The 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount from Samyang is a manual focus, manual aperture, ultra-wide angle prime lens compatible with MFT format mirrorless digital cameras. It provides a 76.2° angle of view which translates into a 35mm format focal length equivalency of 28mm. A maximum aperture of f/2.8 is effective in low light shooting and provides shallow depth of field. With extra-low dispersion, aspherical and hybrid aspherical lens elements, chromatic aberrations are minimized and sharp, color-accurate images are the result. UMC lens coating facilitates even light transmission and reduces ghosting and flare. The minimum focus distance for this lens is 11".

Q: 2. Can this lens be mounted directly on the Sony a7r without an adapter?

A: Yes, the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC Lens for Sony E Mount is designed to be mounted directly onto the Sony E-mount used on the Sony Alpha A7R Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Q: 3. Would this work for interior 360 VR Work?

A: Does it works with a Nikon D5300?

Q: 5. Is this item the newly released for Canon with the aperture chip?

A: Focus is manual. Not necessarily difficult. The lens is inexpensive but I'm not sure I would agree that it is cheaply made .

Q: 6. What is the difference between this lens anda href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1018522-REG/rokinon_fe14m_e_14mm_f_2_8_ed_as.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1018522-REG/rokinon_fe14m_e_14mm_f_2_8_ed_as.html/aThis one has also some extension at the mount side, what is it?

Q: 7. Does this lens (Canon mount) have the CPU chip or is it only the Nikon mount that has it?

A: From Northlight: Update 2016: The Canon version of the lens now features a motor to stop down the lens. The aperture can be controlled from camera body thanks to the motor and chip. Also the appropriate focus is guided with indicator light.

Q: 9. Does continuous autofocus work on video for the a7iii?

A: This lens is completely manual and has no electronic communication with any camera body - so no auto-focus, no aperture control through the camera, and no metadata. The manual focus ring and aperture ring work just fine if you know how to operate them.

Q: 10. Does this fit on the Canon 700D?

A: Yes, this is for a full-sized sensored camera. This lens works great when stopped down...not so great when shooting wide open. 2 months after buying the lens, it got a very slight bonk...now it doesn't focus correctly.SAVE YOUR MONEY...buy something else. BTW, I have 2 L Series Canon lenses that I have had for over 5 years each. Bonked, banged, dropped...still as sharp as a tack.

[f/2.8] This is the best wide angle lens that I have found for my a7r. It is very sharp and produces minimal distortion for a lens this wide. I have been very happy with this combination.

[f/2.8] First off, I want for anyone who reads this that i only had 2 reasons for buying this lens for my 5D Mark III And I am not a professional, These are only my opinion. Here are my reasons.. 1. Use For Real Estate Photography 2. Glidecam Lens I didn't know what to get as far as a wide angel went, but i knew i didnt want to spend over $500 on a used one. I buy most of my things new and looking for a good wide angel that takes the tight shots I have to take the 14mm On a FULL FRAME Is WAY MORE then enough for me. I looked at Samyang 14mm Bower 14mm and then Rokinon 14mm and from all the reveiews they all seemed to be a good buy. BUT, I had no idea which one to get! they all looked the same and had almost the same specs. So was kinda hard, but think I made a good choice! i love it so far. even though its fully manual it just makes you take that extra time for the really good shot! Anywho I have not tried it on my glidecam just yet, but I will do so very soon. And ill let you guys know since not too many reveiws! And if anyone had a question feel free to give a shout 5 Stars for price A++ for Build, And the glass looks wicked just be sure not to let it hang from your strap it will bang on something and scratch!

[76.2°] I use it for landscape photography and it's giving me excellent results so far. Very nice angle (a bit of moustache effect but nothing you cannot fix with Light Room). I like the manual focus feel as it reminds me the old days. Feels robust and looks great on my Nikon D800. The Focus confirm is a great feature to ensure sharpness. This lens represents excellent value for money for a super-wide lens. Highly recommended.

[76.2°] Was looking around for a modest cost lens to perform night-sky photography with, and came across reviews for the Samyang/Rokinon lens. And, next thing I knew, received this as a birthday gift! This lens is fully manual, no AutoFocus, no electronic aperture control, but for the stated purpose, that isn't necessary. Using a Canon 40D, and Helicon Remote on my smartphone, I was able to take the best night-sky photos I have ever tried on the first night I had the lens. And, this is in the middle of the East Bay in San Francisco, with no good dark area to shoot from. Stars at the edge of the frame are not distorted at f2.8. Also took some close up photos of model railroad layouts, and compared with similar shots taken with stock wide angle zoom lens (with AF/AE control). The photos with the lens are much crisper and simply pop compared with (perfectly adequate) quality of the 18mm-55mm zoom.

[Manual Focus] My second copy but was worth the wait! This lens is very sharp. There is some distortion that is easily removed with PTLens software, $ online. Tested it against my Nikon 14-24 which it will be replacing, better sharpness in the center and equal on the edges at F8 the Nikon is slightly better at F2.8 No edge smearing or purple edges on the frame with the A7r.

[f/2.8] I bought it specifically for night photography. The lens is easy to use, has very good optics and is more than I expected for the price.
