Q: 7. How does this lens perform (effect on IQ) with the 1.4 and 2 TCs?

A: When using the Canon RF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens wide open with the Canon Extender RF 1.4x, image sharpness is decreased modestly in the center in the center of the frame, but corners are nearly unaffected. Stopping down one stop brings a nice improvement and impressive sharpness across the frame. The RF 1.4x adds a slight barrel distortion but notably does not affect lateral CA. The results are a bit soft when using the Canon Extender RF 2x on the RF 400mm f/2.8. The sharpness is good across the frame if you stop down one stop. The 2x Extender increases lateral CA noticeably and barrel distortion slightly. The 2x Extender does impact sharpness and contrast.

[Neoprene] I have been using LensCoat covers on my lenses for a few years now and have not looked back. Lenses are expensive, and this helps provide protection for my investment. The camo pattern also helps a lot around wildlife. 5

[Neoprene] Good way to protect the lens and barrel from minor dings and bumps. Looks good too. Takes a little time to work the pieces onto the lens barrel and get into position, but looks good and stays in place. 5

[Neoprene] The LensCoat was as expected, easy to put on and has a very good feel. Because of the expense of the Nikon AF-S 300 f/4E, I felt it was worth protecting from scratches so this is the first LensCoat that I have purchased. Living in NE, the insulation makes it much more comfortable to use in the cold and I love the feel of the lens in my hand. Because I�shoot�mostly at high shutter speeds, I don't use the VR often but can tell it would be difficult to switch back and forth with the plastic cover.� Regardless, I wouldn't cut this out because it does add some water protection around the switch and it is easy enough to lift the neoprene to make the change. It works for me and I would highly recommend this cover. 5

[Neoprene] This cover perfectly fit my sony 70-200mm 2.8 g lens.I think it will prevent the lens from scratches ,dent etc to the outer painted surfaces.The zoom & focus ring are not covered. 5
