Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is it long enough for a canon 400mm f5.6 lens with hood fully extended and 1.4 extender and extension tubes added ( approximately 18 inches in length )?

A: Yes, the RainCoat Standard is 20 in length and will fit your setup. It is designed for the 400mm f/5.6 lens.

Q: 2. Is this product actually waterproof?

A: LensCoat's RainCoat Pro uses a lightweight, waterproof, and breathable poly tricot material.

Q: 3. I have Nikon 200-400, 200-500 and 400/2.8 would the large sleeve work for all three lenses?

A: Should be large enough. I have used it for a canon 600 f4.0 lens

Q: 4. Is this product works with 200 and 300 lenses?

A: This product comes with an extra sleeve, that fits on to the 500mm or 600mm or 800mm lens hoods. If you do not use that, then the rest of the rain cover fits 300mm very well, but will be a bit big for the 200mm lenses. Lenscoat has a smaller version of the same rain cover, which fits the 200 and 300mm lenses perfectly. Im very happy with this product for my canon 600mm lens. Worth every penny. :)

Q: 5. Will the raincoat work with a side mounted gimbal?

A: Yes the LensCoat RainCoat Pro can be used with a side mounted gimbal.

Q: 6. Will this interfere with my Auto focus? It seems cinching something around the lens hood would prevent the lens (Canon EF 75-300 USM with dedicated lens hood) for properly auto-focusing. I want to use this to shoot wildlife at a feeder from a tripod using a wireless remote.

A: No, the LensCoat RainCoat RS does not impair or prohibit autofocus capability.

Q: 7. It sounds like the Pro is too big. Will the Standard fit a Tamron 150-600 lens?

A: This would not work with the 150-600 model. The Pro would be the best choice honestly. Dimensions wise that is what we recommend.

Q: 8. Will this be long enough for the Sigma 150-600 sport?

A: I use mine on a Tamron 150-600 and I suspect, but don't know for sure, that both Sigma's and Tamron's lenses are roughly the same size.

Q: 9. Will this work with a fully extended Nikon 18-300mm lens with hood on a Nikon D7000? Or with a Nikon F4 70-200mm and a D7000?

A: It works with fully-extended 18-300 on a D810

Q: 10. will this work with a Canon 50mm f1.4 usm lens ( its 6 inches in length with hood and my eos -3 body attached and goes upto 7.5 inches if extension tubes are also added ) or will it be too big ? thanks

A: This raincoat is just too large. After purchase of this one I would not purchase another. I chose to use two large (quart) zip lock freezer bags. They were much tighter fitting, drier to use and you had full visibility of your camera and lens. The so called raincoat is a good idea but they need to go back to the drawing board.

[0.235 lb] As a pro I am very rough on my gear. This cover is peace of mind knowing I am protecting it from scratches and nicks. Love how it fits. The camo pattern also conseals the white lens when I am in the field with wildlife.

[0.235 lb] What a great product. Once you put the product on your lens, it has a snug fit. I have mine on several lenses for a few years and never have to think about it except to be grateful for all the scratches I don't have. Product performs exactly as advertised.

[Neoprene] After I bought my new lens, I really needed this, seeing how hard photographing wildlife can be on your equipment. This cover went on easily, and does a great job protecting my lens. Once I figured out how to get the holes lined up exactly, I have no problems switching to manual focus, or turning the Image Stabilizer on or off.

[Neoprene] I'm of the opinion that anyone who cares about keeping these expensive pro lenses in pristene condtion and without compromise, should have a lencoat. I like the product and find it easy to switch between white or differnt camo prints. I've now purchased several lenscoats in different patterns for wildlife work. It seems so simply but yet so smart.

[Neoprene] Good Protection Photo Enthusias Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Excellent product. Great fit. I love the Digital Camo color too. Has a military look to it. A little pricey but I like to keep my equipment immaculate, and with these covers on I don't feel like I need to be so careful about bumping into something with the lens.

[Neoprene] I was skeptical about using these....but it worked out great. Shooting in colder conditions and keeping everything from getting beat up. I have them for each lens now.

[Neoprene] Tried having walking on the park for some bird shots... good i have this coz if not for this my camera would be scratch free no more, didn't notice the branch sticking infront of me and hit my camera, well, if you invest an expensive camera, why not protect it.

[Neoprene] Couldn't ask for a better lens. Very sharp images and focuses fast. If you like the option that a zoom lenses gives then this is the lens for you. It is just like the 70-200 2.8 lens but only at a shorter distance. Would recommend this lens for everyone, at every level of photography.
