Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have a Rode Wireless Go and I want to plug the transmitter into the soundboard and the receiver will plug into my DSLR. What cable will I need from the VXLR to the transmitter?

A: This adapter would be to take the cable that comes out of the receiver and bring it in to an XLR input, not an output. We are not aware of an option that will allow you to feed a sound board in to the Rode Wireless Go's Transmitter at this time.

Q: 2. Can I use this to plug in a Rode Lavalier Go Mic to an Focusrite Audio Interface XLR Jack?

A: The Rode Lavalier Go Mic is not compatible with the RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter, the correct adapter is the RODE VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter.

Q: 3. Will this adapter work from the rodelink wireless to Sony FS5 XLR?

A: While I do not own the FS5, the audio inputs on your camera are XLR at mic and line level. The Rode Link outputs to 1/8 jack and will connect to your camera via this adapter perfectly using the supplied (Rode) 1/8 short cable.

Q: 4. Can I use this to connect a non-powered mono lav mic (AZDEN EX503) to my mixer or audio interface?

A: Sure. The jack itself just provides connectivity (unbalanced to balanced). Looking at the AZDEN EX503, it should work.

Q: 5. I need to connect a Rode Newsshooter receiver to a mixer input. Is this my solution?

A: Yes, the RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter would be a good solution for connecting the mono output of a wireless receiver to a mixer's XLR input.

Q: 6. Will my Sennheiser wireless lav mic which has the locking ring work with this adapter?

A: No, this adapter will not work with a lav mic that has a locking ring. It will not connect properly.

Q: 7. Quick question, apologies if it's already been asked. I have a Zoom H5 and 2 Rode wireless kits. I want to record both in stereo in 24bit/96khz. If I purchase these adapter will that be possible or will it only record in mono? Thanks in advance.

A: This is for mono only.

Q: 8. I have a Zoom h5. which lavalier mics do you recommend. When 2 are hooked up do I need to turn on phantom power on the Zoom for the 2 inputs. Is the recording mono or stereo?

A: I use a variety of lav mics. I mosty use Sony but I don't have the model in front of me. You'll need phantom power if your mics requre that. You'll need two mics to record in true stero but the Zoom might allow you to record mono to both L&R tracks.

Q: 9. Will this work to connect the Rode Filmmaker Kit to the Tascam DR-70D? I have tried several stereo cables, but it seems to only work with mono.

A: The xlr inputs on the tascam dr70d are mono inputs. the only stereo input is the 1/8in jack.

Q: 10. Is this the best choice to connect the line out from the Zoom H3-VR to the XLR input of the Zoom F8nPro? Is there a best cable your recommend?

A: Instead of using the Rode VXLR Adapter, you can use a single cable with the appropriate connectors to send the output from the Zoom H3-VR Audio Recorder into the XLR inputs on the Zoom F8n Pro Field Recorder. Use a cable like the Kopul Stereo Right-Angle 1/8" Male Mini-Jack to XLR Male Cable - 6' (B&H # KORSMXM06) for connection to a single input or the Hosa Technology Pro Stereo Breakout Cable - 3.5mm Stereo Mini to Dual 3-Pin XLR Male - 6' (B&H # HOHMX006Y) for connection to dual inputs.

[24 AWG] I was interested in the possible sound quality difference between this 50' cable and a really short one (3 to 18). I did a test recording in stereo with the left channel using my really short one (Kopul Coiled 3-Pin XLR-M to Angled 3-Pin XLR-F Cable (3 to 18)) and the right channel using this 50' cable coiled on the floor. I kept mics and recorder exactly the same for the experiment and rotated my setup in the room halfway through in case there was one side of the room that was better than another.

By ear I can detect no difference between the two sides in the recording. Both had no discernible hiss when recording a vocalist.

Fantastic!!

[10' / 3 m] This 6-pin cord was hard to find. But found it at B&H. It fits the microphone I needed it for and thats all one could ask. Its 25'. I wished there were more choices as I would have opted for a shorter length.

[10' / 3 m] Just hooked it up and so far is functioning well. The shorter length is just what I needed. In fact it could have been shorter but it worked out just fine. Love the color coded wires. Great for the price too.

[8] I literally looked everywhere to find an RJ45 to 2 Male/2 Female cable and was just about to resign myself to having to make it myself when I came across these. Very thankful to this company for making them and appreciate the great quality.
