Looking at this unit for mobile church events.

A: The Sescom SES-DAC1 Audio Converter has TOSLink Optical S/PDIF input and RCA coaxial S/PDIF input with analog stereo RCA output. As is, you can't connect headphones, but it should work if you use a dual RCA male to 3.5mm TRS female Y-adapter like the Hosa Technology Stereo Mini (3.5mm) Female to 2 RCA Male Y-Cable (B&H # HOYCSMF2RM).

[Neutrik] I was interested in the possible sound quality difference between this 50' cable and a really short one (3 to 18). I did a test recording in stereo with the left channel using my really short one (Kopul Coiled 3-Pin XLR-M to Angled 3-Pin XLR-F Cable (3 to 18)) and the right channel using this 50' cable coiled on the floor. I kept mics and recorder exactly the same for the experiment and rotated my setup in the room halfway through in case there was one side of the room that was better than another. By ear I can detect no difference between the two sides in the recording. Both had no discernible hiss when recording a vocalist. Fantastic!! 5

[24 AWG] I needed a proper way to convert and feed a pro level XLR audio out of a powered portable PA speaker / mixer main line out to a RCA input of my assistive listening transmitter in a Church for my hard of hearing folks that for some reason only has a RCA input jack. I never had any luck with those simple adapters or a cable with a XLR on one end and a RCA on the other! To do it right I needed to not only convert the jacks but also convert the impedance. This is a quality very well built product featuring top rated Neutrik brand RCA and XLR jacks in a nice aluminum enclosure and an impedance matching transformer that allowed me to properly convert the signal. Yes, this is more expensive than the other simple adapters but I wanted pro results and pro results is what I got. Perfect for my situation. 5

[24 AWG] Over the years, Whirlwind products have proved their sustainability over and over. One of the primary reasons I chose to order the Whirlwind Medusa snake was because of the great numbering system used on the XLR ends. When changing channel patches in our main snake system, the Whirlwind ends are quick to identify which channel is which. 5
