Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will my Sennheiser wireless lav mic which has the locking ring work with this adapter?

A: No, this adapter will not work with a lav mic that has a locking ring. It will not connect properly.

Q: 2. Is this Adapter OK to use with a Rode Video Mic Go Shotgun connecting to a Tascam 70D for phantom power? If it is what should the setting on the Tascam 70D be 24v or 48v?

A: No. You should not send phantom power to the Rode Video Mic. It operates on its own internal battery, which is charged via the USB cable.

Q: 3. Can i use this with a Rode smartyLav + and the Zoom Podtrak4?Podtrak is supposed to deliver phantom power to the xlr input

A: When using a TRS lavalier microphone with an XLR mic input, you would want to use the Rode VXLR Pro (BH #ROVXLRPRO) to convert 48v phantom power to plugin power for the lavalier. The Rode Smartlav+ uses a TRRS connector meant for smart phones and mobile devices, so before using it with this adapter you will need to convert its TRRS connection to a TRS connection with an adapter such as the Rode SC3 (BH #ROSC3).

Q: 4. Quick question, apologies if it's already been asked. I have a Zoom H5 and 2 Rode wireless kits. I want to record both in stereo in 24bit/96khz. If I purchase these adapter will that be possible or will it only record in mono? Thanks in advance.

A: This is for mono only.

Q: 5. Can I connect an RX from the Rode Wireless Go II to a mixer, using the RODE SC11 and 2 RODE VXLRs, so I can have a microphone on each channel?

A: You can use the Rode SC11 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Y-Splitter Cable and two Rode VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapters to connect the output from the Rode Wireless GO II Receiver to the inputs on a mixer. As another option, you can use a 3.5mm TRS male to dual XLR male Y-cable like the Cable Techniques 3.5mm Right-Angle TRS to Dual Low-Profile 3-Pin XLR Male Y Cable - 15" B&H # CATGO2YX3M15), the Hosa Technology Pro Stereo Breakout Cable - 3.5mm Stereo Mini to Dual 3-Pin XLR Male - 3' (B&H # HOHMX003Y), or the Azden MX-2 - Y Cable for 200UPR & 320UPR with 1/8" (3.5mm) Mini to Dual XLR Connection (B&H # AZMX2).

Q: 6. Hello, I want to record speeches in a wedding. My setting is a back up audio. I want to connect my Rode wireless go II recorder to the dj console while guest speech using the Dj microphone. Will this adapter work for my needs.

A: Yes. The following adapter will get plugged into the events mixing board.

Q: 7. I'm assuming (since it was listed as an accessory to the Filmmaker Kit) this product will allow you to use the Lavalier included with the Filmmaker Kit as a hardwired mic via an XLR cable. If so, will this adapter allow +48V phantom power to be supplied to the Lavalier?

A: No, this does not supply phantom power.

Q: 8. Can I use this adapter paired with:(BH #MOG353515) to send audio from a Zoom F4(3.5mm/sub out) to a camera's XLR?

A: You could use the RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter to connect a 3.5mm line output to a camera's XLR input, although the signal will be mono and it will come in hot due to being a line signal instead of mic level.

Q: 9. What adapters would be required to use the Rode Video Mic Pro (stereo) with a Tascam DR-40 and not go to mono?

A: Why not just connect 2 XLR ports on the mic to the 2 XLR ports on the recorder using simple XLR-XLR cables? Am I missing something?

Q: 10. Will this work with the Shure VP83? I believe the Shure is mono...

A: Yes the Rode VXLR - Mono Mini-Jack to XLR Converter will work with the mono Shure VP83.

[Neutrik] Needed to replace some older cables and these were readily available. Work great and a great price in comparison to Clear Com name brand, which were on back order.

[Analog] Just hooked it up and so far is functioning well. The shorter length is just what I needed. In fact it could have been shorter but it worked out just fine. Love the color coded wires. Great for the price too.

[Analog] This 6-pin cord was hard to find. But found it at B&H. It fits the microphone I needed it for and thats all one could ask. Its 25'. I wished there were more choices as I would have opted for a shorter length.

[Analog] I literally looked everywhere to find an RJ45 to 2 Male/2 Female cable and was just about to resign myself to having to make it myself when I came across these. Very thankful to this company for making them and appreciate the great quality.

[8] I was interested in the possible sound quality difference between this 50' cable and a really short one (3 to 18). I did a test recording in stereo with the left channel using my really short one (Kopul Coiled 3-Pin XLR-M to Angled 3-Pin XLR-F Cable (3 to 18)) and the right channel using this 50' cable coiled on the floor. I kept mics and recorder exactly the same for the experiment and rotated my setup in the room halfway through in case there was one side of the room that was better than another.

By ear I can detect no difference between the two sides in the recording. Both had no discernible hiss when recording a vocalist.

Fantastic!!
