Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this safe to use with the Verizon 5G frequency ban? The FCC says 600MHz, but it also says something about some ranges in the 500MHz frequency band as well.

A: The Sennhieser EW 112P G4 UHF wireless systems work within the FCC- allowed range of 470-608MHz. 5G cellular service operated on higher frequencies than this. Sennheiser wireless systems allow for auto scanning, with 1680 frequencies to choose from, making it easy to find a clean frequency, even in the crowded UHF spectrum. .

Q: 2. Why am I receiving a warning that this product contains lead? I understand that my state requires a warning, however, what portion of this product contains the lead and is it dangerous?

A: Sennheiser has an office in California, and is legally required to place this warning on all their items regardless of whether they contain lead or not. This item is not dangerous.

Q: 3. What's the latency?

A: The manufacturer has not provided any specifications for latency for the Sennheiser EW 512P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System.

Q: 4. Can we use two of the same models with the same frequency range at one time or do we need two different frequency systems? Basically, can we use two of the same exact transmitter/receivers simultaneously?

A: Yes you can, when scanning for a new frequency do one system at the time once you are done just make sure both systems are running in different frequency's.

Q: 5. If I purchase a Sennheiser SKP 500 G4 Pro separately in the future, can it used with this EW 512 G4 model?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser SKP 500 G4 Pro plug-on transmitter is compatible for use with the EK 500 G4 Pro receiver that is included with the EW 512P G4 wireless lavalier system as long as both components operate on the same frequency band. You will need to purchase an SKP 500 G4 transmitter on the same frequency band as the EW 512P G4 system. The EK 500 G4 receiver can be used with only one transmitter at a time so you will have the option of using it with either the SK 500 G4 bodypack transmitter that is included in the EW 512P G4 system or using the SKP 500 G4 plug-on transmitter.

Q: 6. Which Aurey Lavalier Accessory kit would go with this system (small or medium)?

Q: 7. Can these lavalier be wirelessly connected to a soundboard?

A: Yes. The Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System can be connected to a soundboard (mixer). You can use the cable with the XLR connector to send the output from the receiver into a mic input on the board.

Q: 8. Is there some sort of adapter I can use to plug this into a laptop using USB?

A: An audio interface, such as the the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2x2 USB Audio Interface (3rd Generation), BH #FOSCARSOLO3G, is a great way to get quality audio into your laptop from this wireless sytem. The Sennheiser kit comes with a CL-100 cable that will connect via XLR to the Focusrite device, which includes a USB cable to connect to the laptop.

Q: 9. Will 1.5V Lithium rechargeable batteries work in the Sennheiser EW 112P G4?

Q: 10. Hi, I own a Sennheiser EW100 G3 Frequency 643.450 MHZ. I want to buy a EW 112P-G4 Omni Directional Mic to work with my EW100 G3 at the same time on my Gh5 XLR unit. Will these 2 wireless mics work with each other with no interference?

A: Yes, they can be used at the same time without interfering with one another. Please be aware that the FCC recently auctioned the 600mHz band away from wireless users, and wireless systems between 614 and 698 mHz will no longer be able to be used in the U.S. after July 2020. https://www.fcc.gov/wireless/bureau-divisions/mobility-division/wireless-microphones

[Plug-In Power] This X-Connector does what it's supposed to do. Thanks Point Source Audio for this connector, we went from Shure body packs to Sennheiser body packs. This is also good for taking your microphone to other venues and plug into other systems with the different X-Connectors for different brand wireless systems. I do wish there wasn't a chance to over tighten but Point Source Audio does warn on the connector to not over tighten.

[Plug-In Power] Been using for a couple of weeks and am pleased. Much better mic quality than an older Audio-Technica lavalier system. Also, the mic seems to pic up the voice better and is less affected by movements of the head from left to right or up and down.

[Plug-In Power] Others have complaints about this item. While it may not be perfect it was the only option I could find which solved a problem for me. Until someone designs and sells a better version this one is 5 stars! Thank you Point Source Audio for making a niche item available.

[Plug-In Power] Bought this to supplement the pastor's Countryman Over the Ear mic and it works great. Holds mic in place for whole sermon with no need to readjust. Will buy another.

[Omnidirectional] We needed a lav mic that had a Cardioid pickup pattern, durability, with a natural true to source sound quality. This microphone delivered on all points. And the gain before feedback aspect was an enormous bonus. Omni directional pickup pattern s on a lav mic is what is usually suggested. But in a live situation with a 40,000 watt pa, cardioid is definitely the way to go. We are very pleased with the results and will be replacing all of our lav mics with this model.

[Beige] I do live speaking in medium to large hotel spaces. I've been using this system for a year-and-a-half now instead of whatever is on offer from a given hotel (along with the Bose L1 Model II with Tonematch). The Sennheiser has always been at least as good as the hotel's equipment, and in most cases far superior. It's easy to set up, the sound is extremely clean, there's no latency (note some digital systems have a several millisecond lag), and it always works. This gives me the confidence to give a great talk. I also recommend the aforementioned Bose. Battery life (2 AAs) will get me through two hours of talking non-stop and another hour of Q&A for the afternoon, and again for three hours at night. If I were focus grouping with Sennheiser, I'd tell them the mute button works but can be tough to find when you're on stage; it takes a second to kick in so it's not useful as a cough button. But again, overall, terrific rig.

[Beige] Product was great. As is B&H sales and service. Did not fit my application but it was not what the clip was designed to do. I'm sure it would be fine for what its made for.
