Far simpler to use than a telescope, the Celestron 20x80 SkyMaster Pro ED Binocularsare made for astronomy and offer an easy way to explore the night sky. They're also an alternative to a spotting scope daytime terrestrial glassing, with good magnifying power and oversize objective lenses for a bright image. Extra-low dispersion glass and multiple layers of antireflective XLT coating combine to produce high-contrast views with accurate color fidelity. Binoculars of this size and magnifying power require stable support, so the SkyMaster Pro ED can be mounted on a tripod with an optional adapter. Special eyepiece threads allow the use of 1.25" astronomical filters to improve your viewing experience.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what finderscope is shown in photos, uh you don't list it as an accessories?

A: It looks like the Celestron StarPointer Finderscope. It does not come with the 20x80 binoculars. I think Celestron put it in their photos to show as an additional accessory you can purchase.

Q: 2. Is the tripod even worth advertised? What are the dimensions of the tripod package? What is the weight of the tripod? How much is the tripod?

A: The 20x80 SkyMaster Pro binocular matches well with Celestron's Regal tripod. For specs and pricing please refer to this link: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1077100-REG/celestron_82052_tripod_regal_premium.html Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Q: 3. Do the oculars have threads so you can screw on filters?

A: No, this would not have threads so you can screw on filters.

Q: 4. Trying to confirm that this item includes an interface to mount to a tripod?

A: I believe so as I just screw mine directly to a camera tripod. I didn't have to purchase any adapter or extra parts.

Q: 5. Can the collimation be adjusted if needed?

A: Yes, however you would need to send the model into Celestron to do this. They would offer this Service.

Q: 6. Any hands-on reviews of 15x70 ED vs. 20x80 ED, and pros & cons of each? Which is better for astro’ viewing?

A: The Celestron 20x80 SkyMaster Pro ED Binoculars are brighter and have more magnification than the Celestron 15x70 SkyMaster Pro ED Binoculars, and are better for "Astro Viewing"; users will agree. The biggest challenge using the Celestron 20x80 SkyMaster Pro ED Binoculars, is to make sure the tripod that is keeping the image steady is secure.

Q: 7. CELESTRON 20X80 SKY MASTER PRO BINOCULARS , WHAT COUNTRY ARE MANUFACTURED IN ?

A: The country of origin is China.

Q: 8. How much does it weight?

A: This item weighs 5.4 lb / 2.45 kg.

Q: 9. Can you see mars, jupiter, saturn with these? thanks

A: Yes you can. It is also determined by the plantes position to the earth. You will need a tripod. You cannot hand hold a 20X binocular.

Q: 10. Can I see the rings of saturn and the bands on jupiter with 20x80?

A: Absolutely. A 20x power binocular will easily show the rings of Saturn and bands of Jupiter along with moons of Jupiter. These are excellent binoculars also for viewing many other objects in the night sky.

[80 mm] So far, have had no issues with these binoculars. Sky watching has been great and the portability is a huge plus, although I definitely recommend a sturdy tripod for optimal viewing.

[10.13 lb] Great binoculars but you really need a tripod due to their size.

[80 mm] These are best used with a quality mount and tripod like a Manfrotto for best viewing. They have a wide FOV and are not as heavy to use as some would have you think if you want to use them without a tripod. The extra eye cups are nice and since I mount it I also added the red dot finder since they include a mount. Very transportable.

[80 mm] We bought the 20x80s to see the celestial and the long distance terrestrial images from our home on the James River. NNSY, we can see folks on the carriers from 5 miles away. The Moon and beyond? Yeah, Sea of Tranquility, we can see you too!

[20x] The optics is very good for the price. For better ergonomics I also bought a Farpoint Far-sight binocular support kit. It also allows to rapidly change height without changing the aim between 2 or more users. The optional Farpoint Universal Binocular Mount Swing Hinge ($50 extra) is not needed because these binos include a built-in tripod adapter with a similar tilt function, but otherwise such adapter is useful. I put Farpoint mount on cheap Ravelli APGL4 tripod legs (along with Ravelli ACD Dolly for Prosumer Tripods on a hard, even surface), and store all this hardware in a BagMate Multipurpose Telescope Case (38x10.5x7.25 inch). The setup is heavy, but can be carried with a shoulder strap, say, for 500m. These Celestron binoculars are recommended for astronomy and birdwatching, especially when viewing stationary and mounting on an agronomical binocular support.

[Porro (BAK4)] I have used the Skymaster Pro 20X81 for a few days and I am glad I bought it. I used a monopod to hold it steady as the magnification is high. The image clarity is excellent. These binoculars seem quite solid.
