I have four 84s and had to have a pair (from 1975) serviced for capacitors and a bias adjustment. One of the capsules had a loose need/pin and caused that mic to almost sound like an omni. Probably a backplate problem. I had the capsule replaced with a new one from Neumann and can't believe how perfectly it matched the other old one from the pair. No noticeable difference between the two, even next to each other above a drum kit. Amazing.

I ordered my larks 1 month ago and I feel really really happy with them. I ordered the 2 microphone version because this give me more space to work with them. I used on internews and having the -6 option to record a backup sound works so well because in that form you don't lose any details.

Of course one thing that i like the most is the charging box because it works as a travel case but it's the charger too. By the way I love so much the size of the microphone because they look similar to an AirPods case so it's really small.

By the way you can use their own Lavalier microphone that includes in a little bag of use other ones. I will recomend this product so much.

I am using this to Mic an upright piano and this is the richest microphone I've ever heard that didn't use tubes. Only bad thing is that the provided stand adapter immediately scratched the surface.

I generally use these for classical vocal ensembles and chamber music. They are very responsive and handle the highs of a soaring soprano line very well. I never have to worry about the sound being distorted.

Looking for a great indoor dialog mic for booming? This mic excels at it. You want a Hyper-cardiod for this application due to room reflections. I know in the up and coming video crowd you see a lot of guys using shotguns indoors - well, that's why their dialog caries strange reverberations. This is not the cheapest dialog boom mic, but certainly not the most expensive either. I think this mic is the best value for the money. I had heard good things about it before using one myself. I trusted Neumann due to some of their other exemplary microphones and decided to purchase one myself. They have not let me down. Very crisp and intelligible sound. Great addition to any recording studio, pro or home. I've found it particularly good for recording acoustic guitar.

I collect and test mics as a hobby. I'm a professor, former TV executive and audio studio owner. I was at the Neumann/Sennheiser factory in Germany and saw the mic being made. I observed it in regular use by the Berlin Philharmonic. My use is for voice--exceptional.@

It's quite strange that this microphone set gets so many negative reviews here as I personally have very good experience with the product. The Lark 150 mics picks up sounds clear and signal connection is just great, no dropouts when turning around doing works while I was having a live meeting last time, they performed well, and the mics are really small and light. I noticed that one of the reviews here even mentioned that he/she had to charge the mics while using. Excuse me? Have you really owned one or ever get hands on them at all. 'Cause the Lark 150 mics are simply charged with a nice charging case and there's simply no charging port on either mic for charging, how did you make that happen?

LA Guitar Quartet brought these for their show. I was amazed at how easy it was to get their sound through the PA( Allen&Heath GL2400 mixer, QSC amps, JBL speakers). The sound can best be described as the LA Guitar Quartet only louder. Whish I had some for my own studio.
