  • The two LM-PRE4 modules feature four high-performance mic/line/Hi-Z preamps each.
  • They are sonically matched for the Aurora(n) with all the transparency, detail and flexibility you've come to expect from Lynx.
  • When combined with the built-in microSD recorder, the LM-PRE4 preamps transform the Aurora(n) into a standalone mobile recording device.

  • The LT-DANTE card provides digital input and output to a Dante audio network.
  • The two-port card supports up to 32 channels at 96 kHz and 16 channels at 192 kHz.
  • Use standard Cat 5 or Cat 6 cables.

  • The analog signal path for each channel has been designed as a self-contained and shielded circuit. Each channel pair has its own dedicated conversion device. This offers many sonic advantages like significantly reducing crosstalk and distortion while increasing dynamic range and performance.

  • Proprietary SynchroLock 2 high-performance sample-clock technology provides a whopping 300,000:1 reduction in jitter, 5-second lock time, and absolute accuracy.
  • Wordclock I/O provides one input and one output on BNC connectors.

Add Channels:

  • Start with eight, sixteen, or twenty-four channels and later add additional groups of eight channels for up to thirty two total.

Add Modules:

  • Digital I/Os, mic preamps; more are being designed now for future release.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I extend the range of Cat6 cable using some kind of signal amplifier or i will be always limited to 70m max?

A: When outputting over Cat6 cable from the Blackmagic Design Studio Converter, the maximum supported cable run would be 100m or 328 feet.

Q: 2. Can you digitize vinyl records from an analog turntable or would baby face be better choice since it has a pre-amp?

A: The Babyface has microphone preamps. It would be helpful to know whether the turntable you will be using has phono level output or line level output. If the output is line level, then you can use any USB audio interface that accepts line level input to digitize vinyl. If the output level from the turntable is phono level, then you will need a phono preamp specifically for use with turntables such as the Rolls VP29 Phono Preamp (B&H # ROVP29), Bellari VP549 Phono Preamp (B&H # BEVP549), or ART Precision Phono Preamp for Turntables (B&H # ARPRECPHN). The ART USB Phono Plus Phono Preamp with USB (B&H # ARUSBPPPS) also features a built-in USB audio interface.

Q: 3. I am looking at integrating this with the BMD studio Pro camera over ethernet. The video tour and other documentation state that everything can be communicated via Cat6 ethernet. How does the "talkback" ethernet port out of this converter integrate into an intercom? What box would it plug into? Thanks!

A: As per Blackmagic Design: Cat6A or higher would need to be connected to camera. The Talkback RJ-45 outputs balanced analog audio to the camera headset system. It will connect to a 4-wire interface on the intercom.

Q: 4. Can someone explain to me the differences between this product and the BMD ATEM Talkback Converter 4K? I'm trying to achieve talkback and talley with 3 URSA's and an ATEM. Trying to figure out which one I need. Thanks!

A: The Black Magic Studio converter is used for Studio conversion when using Black Magic's Broadcast URSA Studio cameras. If you would like to add Talkback support to an Atem and URSA models the best choice is the Blackmagic Design ATEM Talkback Converter 4K BH #BLATEMTBC4K • MFR #SWRCONVRCKT4K8 https://bhpho.to/3A1mmd7

Q: 5. Will this unit work with a Mac using the M1 chip? Thanks.

A: The RME ADI-2 Pro FSR BE Reference AD/DA Converter with Extreme Power Headphone Amplifiers and Remote is a Class Compliant device and is compatible for use with M1 Apple computers.

Q: 6. Is there any video or audio latency?

A: The Blackmagic Design Studio Converter adds about 600ms of latency to the system.

Q: 7. how long can the cable be on 4k and HD?

A: The recommended length for either resolution can be up to 150 feet long.

Q: 8. Does this come with the Fiber connectors included?

A: Fiber connection ports are there but fiber cable is sold seprately.

Q: 9. Can the unit be connected through the control port with a network switch?

A: The Blackmagic Design Studio Converter can provide external control and software updates which can be accessed through the control ethernet port. The connector will be enabled through software release.

Q: 10. Does it come with SFP modules?

[70 W (Maximum)] Received without any problem, except for a delay a little longer than expected, due to the stock (3 weeks).
I chose to pay the customs fees myself to test.
The post office asked me for 10 whereas via B&H, the price was 9,47.
The team is reactive, Daniela C. knew how to inform me of the delay following the restocking.

[AD/DA Converter] I found these because I needed a more affordable Dante interface for Webex Room Kit integrations with Ceiling Conference Microphones using Dante. For Webex Room kits, they only accept Mic Level inputs so the switchable line level to mic level worked perfectly.
It only needed a $11 of parts with a TRRS 4 pin Phoenix adapter and a female XLR pigtail.
Works perfectly, sounds great, much cheaper than the alternative.

[1 RU] This is what I was looking for for a pair of remote powered speakers. My only bit of annoyance is that I bought a powersupply for the unit, not knowing that it already comes with one. There is currently no mention on the B&H web page that one comes with the unit.

[AC Input] This purchase was to complement an existing cable of the exact same type. A perfect digital I/O csble for Lynx Aurora (n) systems! And, B&H has the best retail price online to boot!

Thanks!

[70 W (Maximum)] Mogami makes great cablesthey are flexible & clean. While testing the Lynx D Sub cable next to Mogami D Sub, however, I noticed that the two wires are not so different from each other to warrant such their huge price disparity. If I have one comment to sum up my experience, the Lynx D sub to XLR cable is a great product for the money.

[8] This is an absolutely amazing sound creation device that can be used as a standalone part of a stereo system or as the ADC/DAC unit of a PC/laptop/tablet based audio system. And also as a wired receiver for portable devices. The sound quality is excellent! The build quality is amazing. Numerous features that can be used either with direct menu buttons or (better) with the RME app for Win/Mac/iPad. Individual parametric equalization of headphones or room configurations with saveable presets is a very useful feature. But there are many more features that you can check out and customize to suit your individual needs. The ability to save settings by profile is very valuable. The only cons I found is that the LED backlight cannot be controlled by any software or menu options. When the device is installed in the bedroom, the bright red LED ring around the power button in standby mode creates too much irritating lighting. And also a non-switchable internal LED backlight with a warm (lamp) glow through the ventilation holes of the case in operating/idling mode. The manufacturer responded that the current hardware layout of the board does not allow controlling the brightness/on/off of the LEDs. I think this design flaw can be addressed in future developments, either by reworking the board or upgrading the model. At least, make each LED RGB style so the color/hue can be customized, and create options to turn them on/off based on events/schedules via menu/app settings.
