The Polsen OLM-10 Omnidirectional Lavalier Micis an all-in-one solution for recording hands-free audio to both channels of your camcorder or DSLR, as well as recording devices with a 3.5mm mic-level input that cannot supply phantom power. It is a self-powered clip-on electret condenser mic designed for accurate voice reproduction in home and video webcasting applications such as presentations, interviews, dictation, and corporate video. The microphone's small, 21-mm long lightweight body allows for discrete placement with the included tie-clip while its 20-foot long cable gives you ample distance from your recording device.

Featuring a 3.5mm dual-mono TRS output connector, the mic sends audio to both the left and right channels of your recorder. Thanks to its omnidirectional polar pattern, the OLM-10 provides a uniform response that will not cause the bass-boosting proximity effect common with cardioid patterns, while allowing you to move freely without off-axis rejection causing a drop in volume. The in-line power switch allows you to quickly mute the microphone as well as preserve battery life when not in use. A windscreen for reduced noise and plosives, 1/4" adapter, and LR44 battery are included.

[0.29 lb] For the price this little microphone is a performer! Be sure to buy a couple of extra batteries as you get around 10-12 hours use per battery. OK, the sound may not be up there with high end broadcast mikes but for simple interviews and podcasts it does the job.

[1 to 10 VDC] The OLM-10 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone met his perfect match: Zoom H1 Recorder. The OLM-10 use a small battery, I'm not sure how long this battery life will be so always I have extra batteries just in case. Also I use headphones to control the levels and the quality is great. It was a success on my last two weddings with the Groom and the Preacher.

[0.3" (7.5 mm)] The microphone made a huge difference. It was recommended to be by B&H specifically for my video camera. I was filming from a 8-10 foot distance. The camera did an adequate job of picking up sound. Plugged in the mic now it is crystal clear. The on, off switch is a little hard to read but sound quality is much better.

[20' (6 m)] This microphone has improved the audio quality on my You Tube videos enormously. With a long, long cord, I have most of the benefits of a cordless microphone at a fraction of the price. Very happy with this purchase!

[50 Hz to 18 kHz] I really am surprised at how good this mic performs. I bought one for a Canon Vixia HF R80 to use while driving doing vlogging videos. It worked so well that I ordered two more and two Rode female XLR to female 3.5mm adapters to use in studio on my professional shoots. No more spending $300 on Sony hard wired Lav mics. Just keep some spare batteries on hand.

[0.29 lb] I've only used it once, for an interview I video-ed (I ran the microphone cable directly into the camera) but the sound is excellent. A superb product for the price!

[20' (6 m)] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDSuXR3_E2U Gave it five stars simply because it is essentially just like the one I bought 14 years ago. But after 14 years of regular and reliable usage, it met with an unfortunate accident through no fault of its own. So I was very glad to be able to replace it. It's a simple, no-frills powered microphone - which is exactly why I like it. Tiny and unobtrusive enough to attach to my violin, cello and woodwind instruments...and the sound seems entirely true to the musician using it (me). By the way and with respect to references that state that this mic does not replicate sound correctly: One thing I noticed when using it with its 1/4 adapter (that was included, never hurts to have spares) is that the adapter-plug itself needs to be rather forcibly attached to the mic's 1/8 plug. But if the adapter-plug is only partially snapped on, it will definitely cause unpleasant static. Thus one needs to make a point of forcefully snapping the adapter all the way on. But that extra-tight fit is perfect in terms of ensuring a solid, static-free contact. Hoping to get another 14 years out of this one. Swing on!
