[Aluminum] I have a very stable and somewhat heavy tripod for my camera with a somewhat heavy lens that I use for wildlife photography. I wanted to extend my mobility when shooting photos in certain places so I began researching monopods. I took some time and chatted with a B&H representative online. He answered all of my questions and provide direct links to the options that would suit my needs. I ended up purchasing the iFootage Cobra 3 Carbon Fiber Monopod with Mini Tripod Base and K5 Fluid Head. It is well built and still fairly light. It has three mini legs for a tripod base or you can flip them up and just have a durable pad at the bottom. I am practicing taking shots in my neighborhood so I get a feel for everything I can do with it. Soon I will take it and my camera to a nearby wildlife refugee where I can walk along pahts and get a variety shots. Previously, I would have to set up in a place and opt for the shots that came my way which is fine, but a bit limiting when there are several spots to get good shots. Now I have many options and can plan accordingly. I am pleased.

[+90° to -83°] I use this during real estate shoots both for photos and video. This monopod is sooooo stable. The K5 fluid head works great for panning shots and is super easy to level.

[Aluminum] An extremely solid fluid head for small videography setups / photography. I've thrown about everything at it. Wind, rain, snow, heat, big lenses and still performs as fantastic as the day I bought it almost a year ago.


The only micro gripe I have with it is the small knobs for my long skinny fingers, but that's something I can't change.

[+90° to -83°] I was getting really bogged down and a little confused searching the reviews of fluid heads … which one is best for me? I finally decided to try the Komodo K5 since I have an ifootage monopod. As it turns out this was the right choice. The construction of this fluid head is high-quality and very solid. All adjustment knobs and levers are also high quality and smooth. The pan and tilt are silky smooth and easily adjustable. The mounting plate is very easy to adjust, remove and replace on the head and balance is a snap. Handle adjustment is easy and has just about any variable I would use. Using the fluid head on my monopod fully extended does cause some swaying. I found that the lower the extension the less swaying occurred. Mounting just using the ifootage base section is rock solid and enjoyable.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] Bought the iFootage monopod cobra 2 and used a cheap old video fluid head to record indoor volleyball and outdoor lacrosse. Long story short, a volleyball hit the monopod while I was holding onto the monopod and my camera fell off the fluid head. My camera hit the wood floor from about 5ft off the ground. The plate was still attached to my camera but for some reason it did not slide solidly into the rails on the old cheap fluid head. My camera and lens survived without a scratch (thanks Sony) but I realized I couldn't go cheap with the monopod head and bought this. It is a real game changer for a hobbyist like me, I like how it matches the monopod, it is super solid, and it is easy to set up. It is exactly what I needed to buy when I bought the monopod. I learned my lesson and will not cheap out again when it comes to stabilization equipment.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I'm not a video person and my needs are minimal - I don't tilt or pan, but instead lock down my shots. What I did want is minimal size and weight. The pans & tilts are good enough for my purposes and the K5 works well w/ the Gazelle TC7 tripod.

[4] It's easy to mount on my iFootage monopod. Moves smooth. Look great. The handle may be a little too long but then again I've only had it two weeks and I may just need to get use to it.

[4] Never had a monopod and head but I bought a telephoto lens for my Sony mirror less. Definitely the way to go.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I use this tripod head on my Rhino Slider with my Canon EOS R. Great size and well made. Perfect fluid head for a smaller camera.
