Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Compatible with Amaran COB 200x?

A: Yes, the amaran Light Dome Mini SE (22.8") compatible on the amaran COB 200x LED Monolight.

Q: 2. Would like to use this on a CPC-1100. What is the video frame-rate for this camera? I plan to use it for live video feed to a Jumbo-tron at a large stadium event. Will this camera do the job?

A: 6.23 to 52.37 at the lowest resolution, 0.71 to 5.99 at the highest resolution

Q: 3. Is this camera compatible with any/most Celestron telescopes. I have a Skywatcher 105 mm, is this a good investment for me?

A: Without knowing your experience its hard to give you a simple answer. Your scope is too small for great planetary images, you need more aperture (8 +) and a longer prime focal length (2000mm +). This camera will function as if you were using a 8mm eyepiece, the detail that you can see can be captured ith this camera.Jupiter and some bands, Saturn and its rings. Mars will be too small. This camera will work very well on the moon. It's not a simple camera like a dslr, it takes videos of your subject (1000-2000), you have do the image processing in Registax software. If your familiar with this software this camera might be for you. Registax is a very powerful software for weeding out bad video frames, stacking them then enhancing the image. After this is done, you still have to bring the final image into Photoshop and continue to process it. If you have these skills, its a wonderful camera. If you can't be bothered to invest the time and effort to learn and experience it will not be a good investment. This product is no good for stars, clusters, nebula, or galaxies. It also requires that your scope is properly polar aligned and your tracking fairly accurate.

Q: 4. does this fit on a LCM114 Telescope?

A: The Celestron NexImage 5 Solar System Imager (5MP) BH #CENM5SSI • MFR #93711 will work with the Celestron 114LCM 114mm f/9 Computerized GoTo Reflector Telescope BH #CE114LCM • MFR #31150 or any other make and model telescope with a 1.25" eyepiece.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the 100 series from Amaran?

A: Yes, the Amaran Light Dome Mini SE (22.8") is compatible on the Amaran 100 series lights like the 100x Bi-Color LED Monolight.

Q: 6. does it fit a Celestron LCM114 telescope?

A: Yes it will fit the Celestron 114LCM 114mm f/9 Computerized GoTo Reflector Telescope BH #CE114LCM • MFR #31150 or any other make or model telescope with a 1.25" eyepiece.

Q: 7. Where is this the neximage 5 solar imager made ?

A: The country of origin for this item is the country of China.

Q: 8. Ive had trouble keeping a good track on Jupiter and Saturn with my Celestron 6se and my Neximage 5. Both planets drift out of the Icap window even after I have a good alignment. Any suggestions?

A: Make sure your tripod is level, and confirm the telescope is tracking a celestial object after a successful alignment. If you are using a Barlow Lens, consider using a 1.5x Barlow Lens or not one at all. Sincerely, Garret at Celestron

Q: 9. is it possible to attach this camera to a baader hyperion zoom ? I am planning to buy a skywatcher 120mm ed refractor and a vx mount ,but I am unclear as to if this can only be used with barlows for multiples of prime focus or if it can be attached to ep's

A: The NexImage 5 camera does not have a lens and is not designed to record images through an eyepiece. It is designed to fit into your telescope's 1.25 focuser drawtube (or 2 to 1.25 adapter) in place of an eyepiece, using the optics of your telescope as a lens. In principal, you can use this camera with a Barlow for added magnification, but the 2.2 micron pixel size of the Neximage 5 combined with the 840mm focal length of the Skywatcher 120 ED already means that to 0.54 arc-seconds of sky will be spread over each pixel. A 120mm aperture only gives an angular resolution of (at best) 1.16 arc-seconds due to diffraction. In this situation any extra magnification provided by a Barlow can do little to improve the resolution of the image and will work against you by reducing the signal to noise ratio.

Q: 10. Which adapter do I need please to be able to use this camera with a 2" eyepiece holder? Thanks

A: You will need a 2"-to-1.25" Telescope Eyepiece Adapter for this imager.

[NAS] Currently I have 4 of the older models (DS-2DE3304W-DE), and this newer one is much better than those. Besides the slightly higher 4mp over the old 3mp, the night vision is far superior. I always use Color at night on all the cameras, and use Slow Shutter to lighten the scene, and I was surprised at how bright the Auto Slow Shutter was on this new model - it's perfect for my needs. I put it on a Scheduled Switch, Outdoors during the daytime with tweaked Image Adjustments (no slow shutter), and at night I have the Day/Night switch on Day, Indoors, with tweaks to the image along with the Auto Slow Shutter 2.

Another nice surprise was my 2017 iMac on Monterey using Firefox v103 was able to see the picture/video in the browser without installing any addons or web components (which don't work on the older models for Safari or Firefox, but do on Internet Explorer when using Parallels Desktop with Windows 10). The firmware which came with my new 3404 is V5.7.2 build 211009.

I'd love to replace all my older cameras with this one but that's a big chunk of change (lol). Anyway, none of my cameras are outside, they're all sitting on the windowsill looking through glass, so for folks who install outdoors will probably have even better results than me.

[Yes, 3 Streams] It’s hikvision great camera for not a lot of money compared to axis. The fish eye lense is great and can see everything. Only down fall is that it’s stuck in the fish eye aspect, zooming in is done through software and the NVR software that I’m using blue iris doesn’t support that.

[Yes] Wonderful camera with easy setup. The full color night vision works incredible. I using the free version of their video management software with a core i3 12100 processor which is plenty for the 6 cameras I have around my house.. Although a bit tricky to setup at first, everything has worked smoothly.
