A: The KVM has two kinds of USB ports, keyboard / mouse specific and general. The specific ones are connected to KVM itself then repeated as emulated device to computers. The general one just works as directly attached USB device. If you connect your mouse or keyboard on generic USB port, they works just like they are connected to computer so they should work as expected. However if you connect through specific port, the mouse or keyboard needs to be a standard USB HID mouse or keyboard to work properly. That means generally bluetooth technology won't work, and some keyboard and mouse with advanced features won't work.

Q: 8. What other Hz is supported by the device at lower resolutions? For example, 4096x2160 @60Hz is what is says but what about at 2560x1440 and lower?

A: The manufacturer only specifies 4096 x 2160 @60 Hz (4K DCI).

Q: 9. It says operating systems XP or Vista. What about Win 7 and 10?

A: I use this with Windows 7 - believe that is considered in the Vista family. A tech friend helped set things up initially, and it has worked well since then. Dennis D.

A: You should be able to simply plug the monitor directly into the computer you want to have the display attached to and leave the keyboard and mice cables plugged in the KVM switch and to the attached PCs. I'm not sure why you would want to use the switch with no visible display unless you now have 2 monitors one for each PC and a single mouse and a single keyboard.

[Positive] Superb bit of kit, Typical Scenario, two tower servers, one tower style UPS. two LT06 tape drives. Virtually no space for one monitor keyboard and mouse, let alone two. Solution = This little baby, connect all the cables (You supply these) but it is as easy as 1 2 3. plug in the mains a wow instant push the select button to trigger what server is required. 5

[Steel] I have had this product for nearly 3 years - simple to set up, switches between Mac & PC with two 2560x1440 displays and logitech wireless mouse / keyboard. Super easy to use - couldn't have hoped for a more trouble-free better product. 5

[M] I have found this solution to be particularly effective. I would suggest that for pre sales engineers, this product is a MUST! I do think you should sell this in bundles though. Have a set of DVI-D cables as optional add on with three output options (DVI-D on the box end, and 3 alternate opposite ends. One DVI-D, one HDMI, and one Display Port). This would be logical because any video card that can support all three devices actually splits up the video output in this manner, and you would save days of frustration as people try to get those wonky little adapters to deal with the varying outputs of video cards. STRONG advise if you are a customer. BUY this product, but BUY the cables you need, don't rely on the ones you have in the bottom drawer, unless you already happen to own the mix of devices you require as noted above. 5

[110 ~ 240 AC] When working with multiple PCs, a KVM moves from a nice-to-have to an essential piece of equipment. This KVM packs an incredible amount of ports and functionality into a very compact size. I used to have it out front where I could reach the (Switching) button, but once I got used to the hot-key switching, it’s now hidden in behind the machines, keeping my work area clean and uncluttered with cables. The resolution on the monitors is excellent and response time to switch back and forth is fast and smooth. Setup was easy once I planned where all my cables were going, and I recommend tightening all the screws for the DVI cables to the back of the KVM as you attach them. Trying to do so afterwards can be very tricky! I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review 5

[FCC, CE, RoHS] Make sure to actually use the usb output that matches the computer your are testing your mouse+keyboard with. I had the keyboard+mouse not working like some mentioned in other comments/reviews. I contacted the support team which helped me make it work correctly. It's silly but we never know what would have with lack of coffee :) . 5

[1920 x 1200] I would recommend this to anyone with dual monitors and two pc’s. The only issue I had was that Windows 7 kept adjusting the displays when I switched between computers. It was a real annoyance to find all my windows, icons and screen resolutions messed up every time I switched. I finally after about a week of annoyances found a setting in my catalyst control center to disable display polling which fixed the problem for me. 5

[2] There is a lot packed into this box. It delivers great resolution and audio with push button connectivity. As always StarTech makes sure you have the right connection for your power source. This product does not include all of the connection cables so you just can just purchase what ever lengths you need. 5

[12 VDC] Had previous experience with a dual port DVI and VGA StarTech KVM and this one is just as good. Yes, the hot keys don't work with a wireless keyboard but I suspect that is more a function of the keyboard driver than the KVM switch, since the last unit I had also had a wireless keyboard and mouse and was flawless in its operations. It would be nice if the DVI connectors were just a smidgen (metric) further apart from one another, but these are minor issues that have nothing to do with the quality or the operation of the unit itself. I love the fact that this is a metal housing; makes it stay put and feels high quality. 5
