A: You just plug the video cable inputs into the computers and the output side into the monitor. You also have to plug in the USB cable into at least one of the computers for power. Once it is all connected, you just use the button to flip between computers.

A: You would be able to switch between the two devices using this ATEN CS64U 4-Port USB KVM Switch, by pressing the "HOT Keys" on your Keyboard.

Q: 9. when a pc is connected through this switch, during boot are the motherboard bios screens, shown in the monitor? that is the post report, or the boor menu if called for , the bios itself if called for.............I just returned a Tripp Lite 4 port display port switch that would not display any video until the windows welcome screen which is when the windows video drivers take over...... A switch that will not display the motherboard bios...has no value...Tech support had no comment...these PC worked perfectly with a StarTach switch...so no issue with the PCs

A: Yes, this switch should do the trick. I use this switch for my work laptop, which uses disk encryption and won't boot windows until a password is entered. I also have my desktop machine connected to the switch and see the BIOS splash screen and on occasion I've interrupted the boot process via keyboard (connected to the switch) to modify the BIOS setting. [12 DC] Superb bit of kit, Typical Scenario, two tower servers, one tower style UPS. two LT06 tape drives. Virtually no space for one monitor keyboard and mouse, let alone two. Solution = This little baby, connect all the cables (You supply these) but it is as easy as 1 2 3. plug in the mains a wow instant push the select button to trigger what server is required. 5

[1920 x 1200] My work (Windows) laptop is typically docked and connected to two 22" monitors, one VGA connection and one DVI connection. I have a Mac Mini as well, using the DVI input on second monitor (with HDMI to DVI converter). Was previously using wireless mouse and USB mechanical keyboard for the laptop, and a wireless keyboard/mouse for the Mac, switching inputs via the monitor menu. Too much clutter. Finally bought the KVM switch; should have done it years ago. Now I have just the wireless mouse, USB mechanical keyboard, and an easy push-button swap between Mac and work laptop. My only minor complaint is the 3-second lag when switching. First world problems. Graphics are fine for me, but I'm not pushing anything graphics-intensive on either machine. Overall, a wonderful addition to the home office to reduce clutter and make toggling between work and wasting time during work hours much easier. 5

This product does not include all of the connection cables so you just can just purchase what ever lengths you need. 5

[2.6 lb] I've used my KVM going on 4 years now and have never had a single performance issue and we order these for other employees. My gripes (more wishes, really) more space between the DVI connections on back and of course USB 3.0 which was long since available when we ordered. Most of our monitors and PCs in use are DVI and now we're seeing more DP connections come in and so far OK so long as the monitor has DVI obviously. Very happy and highly recommend if your monitor(s) are DVI. 5

[12 DC] I have found this solution to be particularly effective. I would suggest that for pre sales engineers, this product is a MUST! I do think you should sell this in bundles though. Have a set of DVI-D cables as optional add on with three output options (DVI-D on the box end, and 3 alternate opposite ends. One DVI-D, one HDMI, and one Display Port). This would be logical because any video card that can support all three devices actually splits up the video output in this manner, and you would save days of frustration as people try to get those wonky little adapters to deal with the varying outputs of video cards. STRONG advise if you are a customer. BUY this product, but BUY the cables you need, don't rely on the ones you have in the bottom drawer, unless you already happen to own the mix of devices you require as noted above. 5

[1920 x 1200] Ask for a simple DVI/USB KVM switch and get one with this cool little wired remote! No more fumbling for the big switch or trying to remember key commands. That little remote with adhesive is stuck to the monitor base. One click and I'm on the next machine. Simple setup. Integrated cables make it nice. And fast switching, with the little remote, of course, makes it sweet! 5
