This 12-pack of 1.3x 20mm SL Swab Firm Grip swabs, in off-white, from VisibleDust is designed to assist with the cleaning and maintenance of camera sensors while reducing the chance of streaking. The angled head helps to apply even pressure across the sensor, and a thick handle makes it easy to maintain a firm grip. Q: 4. Have they resolved the problem with the plastic of the holder breaking down with Age? My old one is completely sticky and gross now, and I don’t want to buy another one if it will just get all sticky in time.

First of all, once you get past the high price of this and use it. You realize it's very much worth it. A sensor cleaning can cost you anywhere between $50-$80. This pays for itself in 2 uses. It's far easier to use than the wet swabs I used before, and less worry about scratching your sensor. On my first attempt i had 1 piece of dust, and it did take me a few minutes, it introduced more specs of dust. But it was just a simple easy experience, removing it all, no worries at all. No streaking from any liquids. The light makes it easy to see. I wish I had this years ago, I've only just heard about it 5

Purchased in August, 2018 so now 10 months experience, using on sensors of my Sony a7iii and a6500. It has easily removed every spec of dust, more effective and easier to use than all the swabs and gel sticks with which I'd previously struggled. And it's small, light weight, and always in my bag. Still functioning perfectly. I'd buy again, and I recommend it to everyone. Have also used it to remove dust from rear lens elements. 5

I have used an Arctic Butterfly since the dawn of the digital age, but the super-light touch of the charged brush has become even more important with image-stabilized sensors. Touching the sensor with anything is a last resort, and so far the Butterfly has avoided having to resort to wet swabs. This was a replacement for one damaged by leaking batteries. My mistake. It is easy to forget to forget to remove them between infrequent uses. 5

My camera tech recommended that I get this along with the lighted loupe to keep my camera sensors clean. He also recommended the cleaning brushes and solutions should I ever get water spots when I do Astro work and change lenses when it's humid at night. 5
