The Eartec EVADE EVX11D-CM Wireless Intercom System 2.4 GHzis a dual-channel, full-duplex wireless intercom system suitable for facilitating communication among 11 people for light industrial applications. This version of the system includes the Conference Module, a dual-channel wireless repeater, which allows for 2 completely independent crews to talk privately. In addition, the Conference Module expands the EVADE system to accommodate up to 16 users; a second Conference Module (available separately) can be added to accommodate a maximum of 32 users.

This configuration includes one dual-ear master headset for the team leader and 10 dual-ear remote headsets. The core technology necessary for operating the intercom system, including the battery, has been built into one of the headset's earcups—eliminating the need for wires or a bodypack. The headsets link automatically for transmission in the 2.4 GHz spectrum at a maximum range up to 2640', while the system's frequency-hopping technology automatically switches to a clear frequency if interference is detected on any of the channels, helping to ensure clear, reliable communication.

The microphone boom on each headset swivels up to 270°, allowing the user to wear it on the left or right side. Rotating the boom into the up position automatically mutes the microphone, and a simple five-level volume control is easily accessed on the earcup. Each headset features a rechargeable LiPo battery, which will power it for up to 8 hours. 11 rechargeable batteries, a nine-bay multi-port charger, and a large soft-side case are provided.

The lightweight Conference Module digital transceiver can be worn on a belt or placed centrally on location and is super-easy to use. Pressing the conference button on the module's face connects the entire team and tapping the button again re-separates the groups.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the range in feet that this will work?

A: According to the manufacturer's specifications, the Hollyland LARK M1 SOLO Wireless Microphone System has a transmission distance of up to 656 feet (line of sight).

Q: 2. If I work in a place where there are other equal teams, is there a problem? Each batch has different ip address number ?

A: These products do not have IP addresses. They work via RF signals. You may work with 3 separate systems simultaneously.

Q: 3. I bought this but was only able to get 5 to link. The other 2 did not want to join the same channel (1) no matter how many times I reset the system. 2 of the headsets are labeled with a 2 inside. Is that the problem? Should all 7 be able to link on the same channel? What am I doing wrong?

A: It may best to have you contact Eartec directly for technical assistance. You can reach Eartec tech support by phone at 800-399-5994 or 401-782-4966. Their offices are based in Rhode Island.

Is that true? I am look for black color style which product link is black color to form UL5S (5 headset)? 3) Which frequency is suitable to Hong Kong? 4) Which location power supply covered AC 220V?

A: We do not offer these radio/intercoms for use in Hong Kong.

Q: 8. if I use 4 entire sets of this unit in a common space for 4 different user groups. will they work flawless without any crosstalk or interference.? also can I connect 2 or more Hubs together to get a larger common user group?

A: No, it is not possible to use four separate Eartec systems simultaneously in the same general open space because they would interfere with each other. However, the signal is not able to travel through walls or floors, so if the systems are placed far enough away from each other with walls or floors between each system, they could be used at the same time. But in one open space multiple systems cannot be used at the same time. It is possible to link two Eartec Hubs together to create a larger single wireless intercom system that will accommodate up to 16 users.

Q: 9. Can more remote headsets be added to the master or is 4 the max?

A: More headsets can be added.

Q: 10. How many headsets can I add to the Eartec UL5S 5-Person Full-Duplex UltraLITE Single-Ear Headsets and still act as one system?

A: This system is not expandable and only works with the five included headsets.

[8 Hours] Just got them, they cover a great distance, come in a hard case that’s pretty nit and seem to be made from solid material, so far so good!

[1 Mb/s] Coming from the broadcast world, doing small to medium events. Really wanted to get away from wires and belt packs. These were the only cost-effective realistic solution. They worked great. We used them day in and day out. The batteries charge fast. The range was good. If you get enough people and enough staging in the way, of course you're going to lose reception over a couple hundred feet and how many walls. But I never felt like they were oversold in terms of range. I love these things, they made our work lives easier and better every day.

[ADPCM / 16 kb/s] I wasn’t expecting from a system at this price. I usually use a ClearComm system costing $12K. I even asked B&H if the product could be returned if not satisfied. I had 30-days. I received the 5-set Comm System 3-days prior to a 4 Cam shoot in a theater setting. I recorded for 3-days in a very loud environment with all actors and orchestra on wireless com’s. The Eartec. System worked flawlessly. Communication was crystal clear with plenty of volume. Battery life easily covered a Three hour show and set up. Headsets are comfortable. Build is very plastic like so not sure about durability. But I am definitely keeping this set. A great buy so far and at a fraction of the cost of a Telex/Clearcom system. I purchased the single ear configuration. During louder parts of the musical room noise made it difficult to hear. However, an earplug in the left ear solved that issue immediately. I would recommend this product to any production team.

[ADPCM / 16 kb/s] These are great!

Flip down to talk.  Flip up to mute your mic.

There is one hub belt  that you hook up to 1 wired headset.  The other headsets are headset only, so you can listen and talk no belt pack needed.

Comes with a bag and 8 battery charger.

[Headband] I read multiple reviews of the Eartec UltraLITE Headsets prior to purchasing.

My first impression after unboxing was that these feel more like a toy than a production environment tool. The $22 battery replacement cost also is a bit of a red flag. It's a proprietary battery so third party batteries aren't an option.

In the past I've had to rely on hand signals or my production team members actually paying attention to move from live interviews to prerecorded scenes during livestreams. Not anymore.

These simply work, despite their amateur appearance. Since they operate on the 1.9 GHz spectrum, I've never experienced dropouts or interference when in use.

You can't toss them around like regular headphones. They not as well built as headphones. Keep them in the protective case when not in use and remove the batteries as recommended when not in use.

I'm sure other companies make a better built headset, but at a much higher cost.

If you treat them with care and follow the recommendations, these should provide you with several years of worry-free operation.

[11] These worked great, but there is one minor issue with the remote head sets. The master head set has a slider switch to turn it on or off. The remote head sets have a rubber push button that you have to hold down for say 3-5 seconds to shut the head set off. When you insert a battery in to the remote head sets they turn on. You have to make sure to turn the remote head set off when you insert the battery. It's very easy to put a fresh battery in a remote head set, not turn it off and then forget about it and have it drain the battery.
