The legs feature three adjustable positions with semiautomatic locks which can be set independently also and four sections with aluminum twist locks. Without the head attached, they are able to reach a maximum height of 59.01" and a minimum working height of 4.72". Both metal spiked and rubber feet are included, letting you place them confidently in a variety of terrains.

The dual bowl head adapter can be locked in place for flat shooting or used as a leveling base with up to 15° of adjustment to find the optimal position in your setting. It's compatbile with both flat base heads and 75mm bowl heads or accessories. Additional details like a stabilizing hook, a 1/4-20" accessory port, and a bubble level provide even more utility.

The head features independently adjustable pan and tilt knobs that allow for a full 360° pan range and a +150° and -60° tilt range. Engraved marks around the base and on the L-component help with precise adjustments, and the included arca-type 120mm quick release plate features 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screws.

A: Yes with a Mark ii a 70-200 and a 400 with no problems whatsoever. It is a very sturdy tripod!

Q: 5. Is there a trick to locking down the legs? One of the legs does not stay locked down and slides when camera is attached

A: You shouldn't have to send it back.You will see a hex head screw when looking at the locking tab. Try tightening that until it remedies the problem. (Your tripod should have come with a set of hex wrenches.) Those tabs are adjustable and will allow you to change the pressure required for locking the legs using that adjusting screw.Note: There are hex head screws opposite the locking tab. Don't adjust those as they won't affect the leg locking.

Q: 7. How does it behave in extreme cold Temperatures? (-40F and below) Does the ballhead know still work?

A: I've only used mine in Wisconsin during the winter. In January it gets into single digits and no problems so far. The last time it got to minus 40 here was in about 1994, and I was using film at that time and had no tripod.

[+150° to -60°] I got this tripod to use with my spotting scope, because the old tripod and ballhead just didn't do the trick. This setup is so light and sturdy and makes the outings much more enjoyable. I picked up a Sirui tripod last year for my camera, they are a great addition to me setup. 5
