Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What mount could I use to clamp this to a desk?

A: I am using a Manfrotto Superclamp with 5/8' stud

Q: 2. Does this affect the payload capacity of a stand since it increases the height? I.e. if the max payload is 5kg for a stand

A: This would depend on the stand this is being used on. If we are using a strong stand such as a C Stand or Stronger like a Combo Stand then this extension would have no affect on Load Capacity. However if we are using a simple aluminum stand which already has a low Load Capacity of 5kg then it would affect the overall Payload of the stand. It would cause the payload to sway which may cause the stand to tip over. If you need the extra height then it would be better to use a lower payload than what the stand was rated for or use Sand Bags on the bottom of the stand to increase stability.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with the inovativ cart c stand clamp holder?

A: No, the Matthews Telescopic Baby Stand Extension is too small for the Inovativ C-Stand Storage Clamps.

Q: 4. daylight or flash setting?

A: The Neewer Tabletop Photo Studio Light Tent (24 x 24") offers a 6000-6500K Color Temperature, 85 CRI.

Q: 5. How much weight could this hold if i decide to use this as a boom arm?

A: This extension is not recommended for use as a boom arm, therefore the manufacturer would not offer a load capacity in this case. Matthews does offer the Matthews Baby Boom, B&H # MABBM which can fit light stands with a 5/8" pin, specifically C-stands or roller stands. https://bhpho.to/2ZCoRhS

Q: 6. Does the fixed 5/8 stud have internal threads on the end and what are they?

A: No, the 5/8 stud on the top of the Matthews Telescopic Baby Stand Extension does not have threads.

Q: 7. Can the mini ball head be removed? If so, is there a 1/4" 20 threaded post at the top of the main post?

A: The Raya LS-TT-SA Tabletop Light Stand with Side Arm come with removable ball head and has a male 1/4" 20 on the top and the ball head have 1/4" 20 female receiver.

Q: 8. How wide can the phone mount open? Is the phone mount spring loaded to hold the phone?

A: The Raya LS-TT-SA Tabletop Light Stand with Side Arm has a smartphone holder that spring-loaded to easily clamp phones from 2.25 to 3.5 inches wide.

Q: 9. Even w/ the diffuser I keep getting vertical lines in iphone photos. I have to turn the lights all the way down to reduce. Fix?

A: When using Neewer Tabletop Photo Studio Light Tent (24 x 24") with an iPhone the protective glass may cause reflections, which is not possible to remove unless you would use external top down lighting.

Q: 10. How much weight can it hold?

A: The following unit is rated for 15lbs safely.

[Aluminum] I didn't realize how heavy and robust this boom stand was until it arrived, but it is no joke. Definitely not going to fall over. Rolls easily and it's heavy but it is capable of folding back up if you wanted to store it.

[2] Very robust stand that will put up with a fair amount of weight, I love the spring loaded sections that will not allow the section to have a hard stop. Ideal for holding a backdrop cyclorama.

[3.66 lb] Comes with...
- The box with built-in LED lights
- LED light diffuser
- 4 solid color backdrops (thick plastic, not paper)
- A dimmer switch

The LED strip will overheat after about 10 minutes of continuous use at 100%, but an easy workaround is to dim the lights when doing product setup. At 50% it can run continuously without overheating. The entire stage can collapse down to a flat 24x24x0.5 which is extremely portable, and is set up in about 30 seconds with the built-in velcro at the edges.

The tent top and front have many configurations all the way from opening the entire side to several decreasing sizes of windows in order to reflect as much light as possible.

Fully constructed, the tent could probably hold ~5lbs of weight if you really wanted to stack stuff on top of it, but it's by no means meant to be a tornado shelter.

For the price, it's exactly what I expected and would recommend it to anybody looking for a light tent.

[1 x 1/4"-20] I'm so impressed with this, I will never buy a light-weight, low capacity light-stand again. All parts are made very well on this heavy-duty, steel C-stand. With dual grip-heads, I was able to mount both a light with soft-box and a reflector on an additional extension / reflector-holder arm, all well within capacity. The large rubber grip made it easy to move the whole package. The spring cushion is impressive and nice when you have a large near-capacity package.

[3.66 lb] I am very pleased with the ease of setup and ease of use. The material seems quite durable. The lighting is consistent and easy to control. The backgrounds fit perfectly. I would like to see additional background colors available. Would love to see this available in a larger size—would buy a larger one in a heartbeat!

[2] Fantastic quality! Easy to use and reconfigure. I have seen people make these out of cardboard and such, but they are never as easy to use or as good as this thing is. Super lighting and it breaks down and reconfigures instantly. My ebay stuff never looked this good. I made my money back in 2 days with the better photos and speed of taking pics. Highly recommended. DURABLE!

[Aluminum] No, you can't hang on it to do your exercises, but it feels like it could hold at least something approaching its rated weight, and the arm is stiffer than I expected. The fit and finish seems good. I intend to mount a 1-pound LED light on top and hang a 13 oz Sony RX100 from the arm, so it should be sturdy enough for my use. The included fittings make it adaptable to multiple uses, and the phone mount is a nice extra even though I didn't need it.

[3.66 lb] I wasn't getting my hopes up for this lightbox which probably adds to why I really like it. I work in public affairs and sell hats and tees online. Often, I'll bring my lights and accessories to work and it's become a real pain to lug my stands and lights back home, then set up the lights to get a few product shots. This simple setup is going to save me a ton of time and energy whenever I'm taking photos of hats or folded tees. It's super lightweight and well constructed. I'm also surprised about the quality of the color backgrounds. I assumed they were paper but they're made of durable plastic which really helps set each background in place and clean when they get dirty. I love the ability to open flaps to take photos from the front or top of the box or to just unzip the entire front panel. I gotta say. For less than a $100, I wish I had purchased this much sooner. Also to be fully transparent, I've only taken some test shots once it arrived. Haven't really gotten much work out of it yet.
