[1] The Shure A15LA Line Adapter is a useful line-to-mic input matching device for small active audio mixers not having a balanced mic-level output. With appropriate patch cables this is a simple solution to connecting a small audio mixer to an in-house PA system for expanded inputs with local control.

[0.495 lb] I purchased the WA451 TA3-F to XLR-M Cable by Shure, to use with a Shure FP5 battery powered receiver. With its solid connection at the XLR fitting and stress absorbing coiled cord, its perfect for quick set-up, staying out of the way and portability. On the downside; I found it a bit pricy for 1 foot of cord, but it carries every sound I make...which is the only thing of importance in my business, so I knew there would be no substitute.

[1] It's a plug and play device we use to record in-air cockpit conversation for videos. All I know is that it works with everything from tiny voice recorders to more expensive cameras. Without it you'll get blasting, unintelligible cockpit conversations. It works.

[USB Adapter] I am using the A15LA-Line Adapters with a Zoom h4n. In my situation I am using strictly XLR connectors which means mic level into the Zoom (which also means distortion when not balanced properly) The A15LA-Line Adapters allow me to use XLR inputs into the Zoom with clean/no distortion from my signal input. The A15LA's fit in my field bag easily and take up very little space, look and are professional quality, and best of all get the job done right. I have NO criticism what so ever of this product.

[1] This device is simple and easy to use. You setup the app once, and your settings carry over to other systems (PC and macbook combo). It is well made, small, portable and darn efficient. I use it with the SM7B, a known quiet mic and it can produce noise, however, it's not loud enough for me to hear it. Audiophiles may disagree. I use the adapter full blast to power the mic and the levels come in near perfect and it's difficult to clip, love the simplicity of great audio without adjustment. If you're concerned about yelling, then you can certainly adjust to -5 and boost in post.... but great SOOC audio is great for meetings as well as interviews.

[0.495 lb] I have always used Shure products simply because they are bullet proof and they always work. The A15LA is all of the above. I use it to go from a audio mixer XLR Bal line out into the XLR mic input from a Canon XL2. No buzzing, no humming, just good clear audio.

[1] I use them with the Rode stereo videomic X on the Panasonic eva1. I can attach the Rode stereo videomic X on top of a cheese plate in different spots & know the cables will reach without being too long or short.

[0.495 lb] Although you can't manually set the gain from the phone (AFAIK) it does work. I used it with the Shure SM11, an Electrovoice RE20 and it should work even with the SM7B, though I didn't test.

The Shure software on windows has something to be desired (like it defaults to phantom power!) but is otherwise useful.

[+60 dB] Purchased to use with an RTA. It all fits inside of a Shure bag and it makes it quick and easy to deploy for SPL logging.
