Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Looking for a travel solution. Will theses stands be good for boom and shotgun / aputure 60d w/ soft mix mini ii?

A: The Matthews MERF Mini Extendable Reverse Stand would work well for holding an Aputure 60d light; it might work as a boom for a very lightweight mic, but putting weight on the legs would be a good idea.

Q: 2. Is there any type of counter weight made to help balance this?

A: Just buy some simple sand bags to hold the legs of the stand down. Simple sand bags are what the industry uses for this purpose.

Q: 3. Is a sandbag still needed when using this ?

A: It is good practice to use a sandbag on any light stand for added safety, even with the Matthews MERF Mini Extendable Reverse Stand.

Q: 4. I just bought the Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder, and it won't open. The legs at the base won't spread apart. I've fiddled with a lot of the knobs, but without further instructions I'm at a loss. Is there something I'm missing or did I get a defunct item?

A: There is a way but I can not describe, you need to play with it without applying much force. Change the connection point to central pole first then try legs.

Q: 5. Simple question not given in specs: How long is the boom arm?

A: The total length of the boom arm is 51 1/2 inches. It is kind of odd that this info is not in the specs. Good question.

Q: 6. Hi, is blue base part plastic or aluminum? Do it have any plastic parts that carry weights?

A: The Neewer T222 Extendable Camera Monopod with Stand Base is made of plastic and metal.

Q: 7. What is the actual footprint (circumfrence). of this light stand???

A: Footprint Radius 20 (leg support arms extended to be parallel to floor)) 35 from leg tip to leg tip

Q: 8. How wide Is the base measuring from floor at the center column to the edge of the leg?

A: 21".

Q: 9. What is the difference between this Matthews MERF Mini Extendable Reverse Stand and the Matthews Reverse Stand? The photos show this one with the legs flat on the the ground. The photos for the regular Reverse Stand show legs that lift the support post off the ground. Is that the key difference?

A: This one you can put in your carry on luggage if you dont like checking your equipment.

Q: 10. The bottom collar on this lightstand has broken. I purchased a Porta Stand PS-3 collar to replace it but it's 1/8 too small in diameter for both the lower and upper leg sections. Are there any replacement parts available?

A: To obtain the replacement part you need, it would be best to contact Impact directly for assistance. The following link would be to their contact information: http://bit.ly/1g7INv4

[5/8" Stud] Works just like it said it would. It would have to be weighted if used outside with a good breeze or wind.

[6.6' / 2 m] This stand is sturdier than I had expected for the price. I use it with a small hair light at a ten foot height. Counter balance is required but it supports the weight just fine. Great stand for the budget minded photographer.

[5/8" Stud] I used only once during a photoshoot and it produced great light. I used both silver and gold and the effect was nice. A must have item. Better than the flash if the sun is out there.

[5/8" Stud] This is a great multi-purpose stand for holding heads and reflectors. Easy to set up and the arm slides right down the center tube for compact storage, which is exactly what I needed.

[6.6' / 2 m] This is a basic stand with the addition of several nice features. It folds down into the same size as a standard light stand, but the book and reflector clips provide a wide range of configurations in which it can be set up. it is a little smaller and lighter than other Impact light stands, but it still feels solid.

[5/8" Stud] I love this stand. In fact, I have 2! It's a regular light stand or boom stand and can hold a light, reflector, boom mic, or just about anything.
