This 72mm Neewer Variable ND Filter 72mm 1.5-10 Stopfrom Neewer Variable ND Filter 72mm 1.5-10 Stopprovides an increase in neutral density through a range from 1.5 to 10 stops. Increasing neutral density offers finer control in available shutter speeds or aperture settings for both still and video applications. Using a longer shutter speed makes it possible to increase blur to convey a sense of movement, or to dial in a video camera frame rate. Increased density also makes it possible to shoot using wider lens apertures, helping to isolate a subject from the background and increasing bokeh.

The filter is made from optical glass that features multicoating for reduced lens glare, and resistance coating that resists water, oil, dust, fingerprints, and scratches, making it ideal for use in harsh environments, and also easy to clean.

Note: This 72mm filter requires a larger 77mm lens cap, not included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work with my old sigma 10-20mm 4-5.6 dc hsm and the new EOS R7? I only see the Sigma 10-20 3.5, on the compatibility list

A: The Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 DC HSM lens is not compatible with the Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter.

Q: 2. The idea of a rear drop in filter holder is excellent. If you are using native R lenses, will there be a way to use a drop in rear filter feature? Funny that this feature would only apply to legacy glass.

A: No there is no option for that.

Q: 3. Will this work with the Red Raptor VV ?

A: Yes, the Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R will work with the Red Digital camera. We suggest using the following and using 4x4 filters for a more flexible workflow Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R BH #CAMAEFRF • MFR #2971C002 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1433717-REG/canon_mount_adapter_ef_rf.html

Q: 4. Can this EF-RF adapter accept the Canon Super Telephoto drop-in filter holders?

A: Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter has a built-in/ non removable Nd filter. There are no threads either to screw additional filters. The drop in filter magazine is also smaller than the standard telephoto drop in filter. It's dimensions are 6mm x 53mm x64mm.

Q: 5. Will other brand EF lenses with autofocus continue to work with this adapter?

A: All EF lenses with autofocus Will work same way as on an SLR. The adapter only compensates for the shorter flange distance of the mirrorless body. in addition the filter slot makes easy to use one drop-in filter for every lens no matter the size of the front lens thread.

Q: 6. Does this work on the RP as well?

A: Yes, the Meike Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF to EOS-R with Variable ND Filter would be compatible for use on the Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 7. Will canon r5 control ring and drop in nd filter adapter work together on eos r5c

A: No, it will not. If you plan to connect a Canon EF-mount lens onto the Canon EOS R5 C Mirrorless Cinema Camera, you may use either the Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter on your EF-mount lens or you may use the Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R on your EF-mount lens, but you cannot use both on the lens at the same time.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with RF lenses? If not has Canon mentioned if there will be an adapter for RF lenses on the R? And if not are there alternatives?

A: This is only for EF lenses. I am not aware of any alternatives.

Q: 9. Does this VND cause the "x"?

A: None that we can see. The ND stopped all the way down looks great with no X over the video.

Q: 10. how bad is the vignette for ultra wide angle lens i.e. 11-24mm, 16-35mm?

A: If it is lens that covers a Full Frame Sensor, such as the Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM Lens B&H # CA11244LUSM, there should not be any vignetting. https://bhpho.to/2bPYxeO

[77 mm] I do not use this a lot, but when I do it performs as I would expect on my D750 and associated lenses. Would buy it again.

[Aluminum] Those variable ND filters are PERFECT. I love the fact that is does not have infinity rolling, so you actually know when you're at the minimum or maximum filter value. Just like a regular iris. Way better than the others brands, where there's no physical limit so you can turn it all the way to the max, and suddenly switch to the minimum value...

[0.25 lb] I haven't had any problems focusing with this filter when set to the lower stops. I haven't tried to focus with the darker side 6-10 stops, but would think any camera would have a problem. Seems to be well made for the price.

[0.25 lb] If you understand how this filter works and use it properly you will get excellent results. At first I was wary because of some of the negative reviews along with the price, however both points I have proved wrong. First you don't have to spend hundreds to get a good filter, second some people have no business writing reviews. Yes the dreaded X effect it is easy to achieve especially at wide focal range but it is also rather easy to eliminate, If you have the flexibility. Note all these filters have this limitation since they are basically just two polarizing filters. I found no distortions or color problems out of the ordinary and have easily gotten all the results we buy these types of filter for. With this 95mm size using step-down rings I can use this on three of my lenses. I have noted some have mentioned not being able to use lens hoods, not sure how hoods would be used conveniently with a rotating filter to begin with. And the only time I use a lens cap is when I am done for the day. The filter feels solid and well made and the ring moves nice and smooth with no loose play, the filter also comes with a really rugged hard shell case and a lifetime warranty. I have a number of filters some Bower, Hoya and B+W that were way pricey but the 95mm B+W Variable ND is just way over priced IMHO So in the end glad I went with this it has proven I don't need to overpay to get good results
