[5 to 95% RH] i have tested this with both a Mac and Windows laptop, and am currently using it with a new 2024 Mac (which only has 2x USB-C ports on the rear). Perfect for plugging in USB memory sticks, an old USB printer, and an external USB HDD for Time Machine backup.

Positives - very fast (10Gbps), small and compact, great for travel, no drivers needed, Works with multiple O/S.
Negative - Well the only thing i can think of is when its on my desk under the Mac, (with the cable going away from you) the Startech logo is upside down! Very minor point, but this is the only negative i can come up with.

Highly recommended product, im very pleased with it.

[FTDI - FT232RL] This hub was reliable, heavy duty and easy to use with various laptops, such as HP, Toshiba and Dell, which I tested it upon. [0.85 lb] I ran out of ports with my old one so I went with this one. I was worried about the weight but it is much lighter than I thought it would be. It's awesome! Would definately recomend if you are like me with my computer and 3 portable hard drives. Now I don't have to go without my mouse :-)

[6' (1.8 m)] This is a pretty simple device but I have to say I like it. I think that this product was well though out. Anyone who have just USB-C will love this hub.
The device is small and I like the layout of the USB-3.1 the two plus two design works better then in a strip.
I think the hub has a good weight to it which helps to keep it stable when multiple devices are plugged in.
Overall this item works and the design is good.

[1 to 1.5 W] First, the negative: Had to mount it, since the hub is all metal and slides around too easy!

Still.... I love this thing. It's like adding one USB-C (since one gets used to connect the hub), and 5 USB-A to your computer. No drivers, no compatibility isssues. The power switch is a great add-on for disabling peripherals, and the always-on port is perfect for charging phone/watch/tablet! It's a permanent part of my desk now, and I bought ahave one in my backpack!

[FTDI - FT232RL] Nice product, portable and easy! Working great for us.
It is handy especially if you are short of USB ports already connected to docking stations and other devices. It gives flexibility to add more devices to work better.
Overall a great product !

[USB 2.0] This is an excellent product for the power-USB user. It gets you USB ports anywhere you need them, can mount it to a desk or wall, though the included rubber strips do a pretty decent job keeping it in-place on a desk. 5 USB Ports are upright (where I think they should be) and 2 USB-C ports on the end, with lights beside each port telling you which ones are active, and which can be removed (after ejection). I might suggest some cable-wrap to clean up the USB+power cables a bit; it’s a simple thing but makes a big difference how it looks. A very impressive product!

[External hub] Seems great! Running two external BD/DVD drives and an external HDD unit without any issues.
However, I don't know how well it does power delivery, as all three of those drives are independently powered.
The cable is fairly short, but works well for me since it's hidden behind everything.
