Bright, compact, and versatile, the Light & Motion Sola Dive 1200 S/F GoBe 800 Combois a wise choice for underwater adventure. It emits up to 1200 lumens in a concentrated 12° spot beam, and 2500 lumens in a wide, 60° flood beam, illuminating everything from tight spaces in a cave to coral reefs or ships' hulls. It also offers an SOS mode for emergency signaling if you run into trouble on your dive, along with a lockout mode to prevent the light from being accidentally activated in transit. Up to four hours runtime (spot beam, low power) assures you'll have light throughout your dive, and digitally regulated output delivers consistent performance across the charge. [LED] I bought this Sola 4+ fresnel for use as a back light in a typical 3 point lighting scenario. It fits the bill quite well I think. I considered the ARRI L5 for this because it is bi-color, but my budget didn't quite allow for it, so the Sola 4+ was the next best option. The Sola 4+ is light enough to place on a boom without excessive counterweights and allows for easy rigging. The fixture is mostly plastic which gives it a bit of a cheap feel however. The barn doors have plastic hinges but the doors are aluminum. Considering the plastic makes it light weight, which is a huge bonus if you are travelling with this fixture, I think it is a reasonable trade off. The focus range allows fine tuning and quite a narrow spot. Fan is quite enough that most audio situations would not pick it up. The fixture has a small form factor but it packs a pretty good punch for its size. Because it is only daylight balanced, I purchased the 5 piece CTO pack which includes a opal frost diffusion. Not sure I will use the DMX function but it's nice to know it's there incase I do. Overall, I think this light is a pretty good value but it needs to be handled and packed carefully to avoid possible damage. I gave the Sola 4+ five stars because it met my expectations based on the advertising and published specs. Now Litepanels needs to make a bi-color version of this fresnel to truly perfect it! 5

[12 to 60°] Well I left a review back in 2017 after I bought it. Im still quite happy with the Fixture. I recently tested the CRI using my Sekonic C-700, the results hovered around 94.0 to 95.0 depending on temperature. I would say Litepanels general claim of a High CRI rings true but the output is no where near a 575w HMI. There are cheaper lights on the market now like the Aputure Storm 300d II that do output the equivalent of the 575w HMI, however I have not tested the CRI as of yet. 5

[LED] Amazing light! The grip on it or should I say engineering that went into this is supreme. It's useful for not only diving but checking out hotel sheets for cleanliness. I hold this thing with pride it is definitely worth EVERY PENNY. I plan to order more and not only recommend but feel bad for those who don't have it. I'm going to Micronesia in 2 days I plan to use this to look at corals at night and bioluminescence. I can't say enough about how high quality and bright it is. 5

[LED] High quality product - I have been using Light&Motion products for over 5 years. They are built tough! They are reliable and worth the price. The night sea is a specialized blue used to see underwater fluorescence during the night. I use a yellow barrier filter to photograph these beautiful colors underwater. This light is for explorers, divers, researchers, scientists and nature lovers. 5
