Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this the Lee 100mm filter holder?

A: yes, if you have more than one lens and they are different mm sizes, you will need an adapter ring for each one. such as 77mm, 82mm, 72mm.

Q: 2. If I get this kit and a 77mm adapter can I use a polarizing filter as well as ND filter like the little stopper ? which polarizing filter would work? Does it matter if you use the wide angle 77mm adaptor? I have a Canon 24-105mm lens and a Canon 300mm prime.

A: You need the 105mm Polarizing Lee Filter .... and both the ND Filter and the 105mm Polarizing Lee Filter can be used simultaneously with the Foundation Kit (and the Wide Angle 77mm adapter that fit with your lens opening). I got the answer from my friend Maurice who experimented the kit more than me.

Q: 3. Can I use a different brand of filter ring or do I need to buy the Lee brand 77mm?

A: You need the Lee brand to fit

Q: 4. To use this kit with a Hasselblad 500CM with 80mm Planar lens , do I need a 60mm to 67mm adapter?

A: Yes, you will need to purchase adaptor for each lens size you plan on using.

Q: 5. I have ordered some 4 polyester CC filters, in snap holders. I am wondering if the plastic frames will slide into this holder? I know about the holder that uses a rubber band, but this holder would be good for other lenses + multiple filters.

A: The Lee foundation kit works with 2mm thick filters and you can get other guards that work with 4mm thick filters. If your CC filter holder is not thicker than 4mm you can get those other guides. But they cannot be wider than 4 inches on one side. The 4mm guides are at this link a href= http://bhpho.to/1BHprZI. target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1BHprZI./a

Q: 6. Can one stack the system on a circular filter attached to your lens without vignetting?

A: Well, yes and no. On my Canon 16-35, I experienced vignetting at 16mm. But none at 18mm and beyond.. On my Zeiss Milvus 21 mm No vignetting noticed. So for me not such a big deal. But what is a major issue, and I believe Lee has recognized this by producing a lens hood of sorts is the terrible flare and reflections when the sun is overhead. In this type of light, the filter kit is unusable. So if you do decide to purchase the filter kit and landscape polarizer and adapter ring definitely also purchase the lens hood or filter cover or whatever it is. Cause you are gonna need it. For Sure.

Q: 7. hi im buyng from bh a zeiss 21mmf2.8 lens and id like to know if the fkit+adp.ring wa82+adp.ring+105mm polar filter will do vignetting on a full frame cmera.

A: You may get vignetting with the addition of the 105mm Polarizer on the Foundation holder. If the 82mm wide angle ring and Foundation holder where used alone, the likelihood that it would vignette would be less.

Q: 8. Can I use Cokin Z Pro filters with the Lee Foundation kit?

A: The quick answer is yes, the Cokin filters will fit in the Lee Foundation Kit.

Q: 9. does this come with a case?

A: Yes.

Q: 10. Can I use this with a circular filter (polarizer) already attached to the lens?

A: If your polarizer has front filter threads and you get the proper Lee adapter ring, then yes it will work. Keep in mind you may get vignetting (darkening of the edges) if it is a wide angle lens.

[Roll] There are only a few times in life (maybe at your wedding or birth of a child) where you open a package and are truly amazed by the work of the lord or American manufacturing. Opening Peter McKinnon’s ND filter is one of those times. From the moment I cinched this puppy up to my camera like a Snuggie, I was in business, prepared to oscillate wildly between two and five stops. And oscillate I have — this majestic work of art from you tuber turned life style guru Peter McKinnon is pro gear with the look and feel of a cinematographer in the hands of a dude who just enjoys snapping shots and videos of beautiful stuff to make people happy.

[Roll] This film is manufactured specifically for LEDs, and cut the glare in our office overhead lighting, without changing the color of the light. Highly recommend to reduce eyestrain.

[Roll] This image is a perfect example of the ND doing it’s job. The window to the far right is the ND less window. As you can see it’s really hot.

[Roll] I bought the Tiffen DV FIlter Kit 3 for a trip to Yellowstone this year. I was very pleased with this combination and how I was able to put them to use to enhance a variety of shots. The polarization filter was great at improving contrast and reducing glare and sky haze. I put the ND filter to use to allow me to shoot slow enough to soften water in motion shots. The ProMist filter added a great affect for several early morning shots around water and fog.
