Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. any information on reciprocity?

A: I've shot a couple rolls, I like the images and I did a couple long exposures without compensating and all negatives were of normal density. However even though it's an ASA 25 film the grain is finer with Ilford Pan f 50.

Q: 2. Is this fire proof?

A: These gels would not be fire proof. Sufficient air space between the gel and the light would be needed.

Q: 3. would this work on aputure 120d ii? would it melt away or will stay fine

A: These gels can be used on an Aputure C120D II. While LED lights produce much less height, it is always a good idea to attach the gels with a bit of air space between them and the light.

Q: 4. How does this achieve shoot-thru and bounce?

A: This works the same way as any other umbrella. I would suggest the black backed umbrella for bounce work. I often use this as a large diffused source with an Alien Bee when shooting groups. It is also great in the summer to throw up on a stand and use it to soften direct sunlight.

Q: 5. How is the curl when loading this film on reels? I find the retro 400 difficult to start and i've read the IR film is also.

A: The Rollei RPX 25 Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film) does have a tight curl. It takes some time to load it onto the reel.

Q: 6. So I recently purchased these gels to cut out and use with the filter tray on the Aputure barndoors. Upon turning my 300d mkii up to 100%, it burned right through the center. Should I just be clipping these onto this light? Or are there other filter alternatives that can go in those trays?

A: It would be best to clip the gels to the barndoor leaves in order to allow for more air space.

Q: 7. Can i use this in front of broncolor siros lights with broncolor's reflector in front? If yes, then how can i attach it?

A: The easiest way of attaching these Lee Filters to a Broncolor reflector is with the C-47 Production Clips (Matte Black, 24-Pack), BH #C41C47, leaving airspace between the two. https://bhpho.to/3rpGmBj

Q: 8. What's the difference between rpx25 and rollei pan25 that was discontinued a few years ago?

A: It doesn't seem to be any difference as far as I can tell. There is no information online and after shooting both, there is no significant differences in the look.

Q: 9. What size core does this roll have? is it compatible with the canon pro-2100 printer?

A: The Awagami Factory Kozo Thin White Paper Roll has a 3 inch core but it is too thin for use in the Canon 2100 printer. The paper is 0.16mil and your printer requires paper that is 3mil or thicker.

Q: 10. Can I used it for hot lights or studio strobes (wrapping around the bulb)?

A: You can but not attaching right near the bulb.

[1.165 lb] Sure you can get away with setting you light on the ground, but what happens when a client happens to back up and trip over the light they didn't see? You my friend, want this. Your insurance will appreciate it as well!

There's nothing wrong with spending a little for a solid foundation. Well worth it!

[Roll] I used this on the house lights in our church auditorium, cut down to size. Around 60 lights. The result is very even, soft coverage without a noticeable decrease in overall brightness capability.
