[72 mm] I use these to step up from adapted photo lenses for cinematography, with an 80mm outside diameter (and 77mm filter thread) to match other cine lenses. The Sensei brass step-up rings are really high quality, no comparison to various aluminum rings, and most cost-effective than the Heliopan. Actually I like the design of the Sensei better and would definitely only buy more of these now if I needed them. 5

[72 mm] I have these in a couple sizes. The smaller ones, like 72mm are somewhat weaker in magnetic attachment, but they work OK. The larger 82mm size is much stronger and I like them even better. Having used magnetic filter attachment for some time now, the screw on ones seem just awful. So tedious. 5

[72 mm] Go ahead and spend a little more to get the brass rings, you'll be glad you did. First time you have a ring stick on you and you don't have a filter wrench you will wish you had purchased the brass ones. 5

[Aluminum] This is a well-machined ring. The quality is obvious. The grooved surface certainly helps with the removal of the ring. I was a little bit apprehensive by the price, but, upon attaching it to my lens and filter, I concluded it is the best choice. I currently use it with my Nikon 180mmm AFD, a Nikon 77mm polarizing filter (1 Gen.) and the Nikon HN29 hood. The entire set up plus rear lens cap and a Tamron 86mm snap-on lens cap (for the HN29) fits perfectly into a LowePro LC2 lens case. 5
