[Threaded Screw] I have looked at several types of soft release buttons for a while now and in the end, I got the red dot soft release made by Leica.

It costs a few dollars more than some other brands, but it gives me peace of mind knowing that the thread pitch is correct and that it won't damage the threads in my shutter release button on my M10 Monochrom and M-P 240.

The red and white enamel finish is beautiful; it is made with a very high level of craftsmanship, just like Leica cameras and lenses. It is the obvious choice for any M camera user.

[0.05 lb] This is an extraordinary shutter release button, so much so that I only wish the Leica Q3 I ordered it for would ship SO I COULD PUT THE SHUTTER BUTTON ON IT! What is going on there in the Holy City of Wetzlar, anyway? What, are they having some kind of cataclysmic traffic jam or volcanic eruption or something? Reader, if you're wondering whether you should buy your shutter release buttons from B & H, wonder no more-you will never find a more distinguished and reliable source of shutter release buttons IN YOUR LIFE, OK? But I still don't have my Q3.

[Threaded Screw] Let's face it, there's really no need to buy this particular soft release button if it weren't for its looks. Well, it's gorgeous, and adds a splash more of that prestigious Leica red to my black M11. Yes, it doesn't align the text parallel to the camera. No matter what you do, it ends up at a 45 degree angle. I don't mind at all.

[Black] Why a soft release? From the moment I started using one years ago, I was hooked. I just find it much more comfortable than to go without one.

Now on to this Leica model. Yes, I realize that these soft releases are laughably expensive for what they are. But the cheap ones I've used would always find a way to work themselves off, no matter if I used a rubber washer or not.

So, unhappy with the performance of the bargain priced buttons I've always used in the past, I begrudgingly parted with my money and gave this OEM button a try on my M11.

This is the first time I've had a soft release where I didn't immediately start wishing it were designed differently. The simple M is unobtrusive and sleek, not attention-grabbing and conspicuous. And it screwed on tightly and securely, and the knurling around the edge really makes a difference. Honestly, even without a rubber washer, it is tighter and more secure than any other brand I've tried.

Ultimately, I finally feel like I've found my forever soft release. Thus, the high price might actually be a wash, considering my never-ending search among the cheaper brands.

[Threaded Screw] I had originally purchased sn off brand shutter release button it was cheap, plastic and worked its way loose in a few days of use. Forever lost. The Leica button is well made and screws in securely. Clearly, this is what I needed. But yes, it is costly.

[3 x 3 x 0.85"] The price is high, but so is the quality. It looks great on the M10-R.

[Black] As another reviewer wrote, it doesn't quite line up parallel with the camera. Seems the silver one and the 100th anniversary (no longer available) do a better job of it. Little to complain about; it performs its simple task and looks cool doing it.
BTW, the female threaded silver backing allows it to be used as a lapel pin--why anyone would use it as such, escapes me. That's why it's included.

[Black] This soft release isn't as large as many others but works perfectly and is consistent with the low profile of Leica

[0.05 lb] I have one on my M7 and love the look and feel of the quality painted and machined release. I Purchased this one as a gift for my friend, he had a knock-off on his M6. It was cheap looking. In good conscience I could not let this happen.
