The half cage features an L-shaped design with an Arca-type mounting plate at the bottom for easy transitioning from tripod-mounted to handheld configurations. Two 3/8"-16 and two 1/4"-20 threads on the cage offer places to mount articulating arms or adapters. A detachable HDMI clamp ensures your cable connection to your external monitor remains secure. Two camera screws secure your camera safely inside the cage. Its modular design makes creating your own custom rig a breeze using separately available Wooden Camera or third-party components.

[Arca-Type Plate] I was reluctant to cage up my Sony FX3 solely on the basis of keeping my camera as small and lightweight as possible. However, after making this purchase on B&H, I discovered the SmallRig Cage is extremely light and feels the same ergonomically without it. I figured it's a win win- my FX3 is further protected, I can add a side grip handle/strap, additional grip securement on my HDMI port, and, have an additional cold shoe mount for various tools, such as my newly acquired Sennheiser MKH 400. I love this cage! 5

[Arca-Type Plate] This works well with the older wooden camera DSLR Small cage that the fx3 used to go with. Great little add-on piece that gives a few more mounting options. I appreciate the hot shoe connection. 5

[Cage] I am more favorable towards this SmallRig Camera Cage for Sony FX30 and FX3 compared to its predecessor due to a variety of reasons: 1. It enhances the camera's functionality by incorporating additional mounting points on the right side. 2. It also ensures the right-side protection of the camera. 3. The removing of the Rode holder, which was once inconveniently positioned on the top left, is a significant improvement. 4. Finally, from a design perspective, this cage surpasses its predecessor, with a more pleasing aesthetic appeal. 5
