Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would I be able to reverse this lens hood and store it backwards on the rf 50mm f/1.8 STM lens for storage?

A: Yes you can store the lens hood in reverse on the lens.

Q: 2. What is the difference between this hood and the ES-65III? Both are listed as hoods for the TS-E 90mm.

A: The Canon ES-65 III Lens Hood is designed for the Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8 Lens. While the Canon ES-84 Lens Hood is designed for both the TS-E 90mm f/2.8L Macro lens and TS-E 50mm f/2.8L Macro lens. They are not interchangeable as they are designed specifically for different lenses.

Q: 3. I purchased the ES-1 and the 27mm PK-13 Extension and have them set up on a D90 with a Nikor 55mm macro lens and a UV filter. With the ES-1 fully extended 70mm and the lens focused at a lens length of 70mm (for a total slide-to-image distance of 167mm), I get a nicely focused full frame shot of my slide. The only problem is that the bottom of the image is slightly cropped. It seems with experimentation that I would have to move the slide about another 150mm off the lens and then refocus a bit to remedy this problem. But everything I read indicates that this set up should work. Is some cropping inevitable. Do I need a longer tube?

A: Since the D90 has a DX sensor, you need less magnification to copy a slide than 1:1. With a 55 mm Micro-Nikkor, you will need a PK-13 extension tube between the camera and lens to achieve 1:1.5 magnification, and a K extension between the lens and the ES-1. K tubes are only available used, and are 52 mm M to F adapters in several lengths.

Q: 4. Does ES-1 work with Nikon D3300 and its kit 18-55 mm lens?

A: No unfortunately, Nikon ES-1 Slide Copying Adapter is only compatible Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor lens and the Nikon PK-13 extension tube.

Q: 5. I have a Fuji XT 1, the 60mm macro which does 1:2 and the MCEX 16 extender. Can I configure this to use with my set up?

A: not sure, but I'd guess probably not since you're using Fuji equipment and this is specifically designed for Nikon micro lenses.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with an X3500H?

A: The Denon Rack Mount Kit for AVR3313/2313 Receivers (BH # DERMR3313) is not compatible with the Denon AVR-X3500H receiver.

Q: 7. Do I need the extension tube PK-13 with ES-1 used with the 60mm Micro Nikkor using Nikon dslr with crop sensor?

A: No, the 60mm Micro-Nikkor lenses focus to 1:1 without an extension tube. And with a DX sensor, you'll actually only need less than 1:2 magnification if you're duplicating slides, because your original will be more than twice as big as your sensor. The extension tube will allow you to increase magnification, you'll actually need less magnification due to crop factor. I don't know if you'll be able to get the whole slide in the smaller DX frame with this setup (you'll have to experiment and see), you would actually be better off with the 55mm Micro-Nikkor, which is 1:2 magnification without the extension tube, closer to what you need for a DX camera to duplicate 35mm slides.

Q: 8. How to the results compare to that of the plustek scanner?

A: Never used a Plustek scanner, so I cannot compare. However, when the ES-1 is used with a DX camera (Nikon D500 for me) and the recommended Nikkor lenses (I used a 40mm Micro with 52mm filter threads, no extensions), the results are excellent.

Q: 9. would this work with the Nikon 105 f 2.8 micro lens?

A: Yes this adapter works very well with a 105mm f2.8 micro lens on a full frame camera – I use it on both a D610 and a Z6. The trick is that you need to move the copying adapter further away from the end of the lens – I use extension tubes (simple black anodized aluminum 52mm diameter screw on tubes) that total 98mm in length along with a 62-52mm step-down ring (lens has a 62mm filter diameter and the copying adapter has a 52mm diameter). With the extension tubes attached you have plenty of latitude to use the copying adapter's extendable collar to adjust the framing of the slide or negative. One suggestion: when you've adjusted the framing to your liking, secure the copying adapter's collar with a piece of gaffers tape or blue masking tape so that it will remain in place as you place new slides into the copying adapter.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with Denon AVR-X6700h?

A: The Denon Rack Mount Kit is compatible with AVR3313, AVR2313 & 2313 Receivers.

[Steel] Wasn’t sure this would work for the new 3800H and it does. Thank you!

[Black] Was having heat issues with DTV boxes and the cards were getting brown and fried from the heat. DTV boxes now are getting cool air and not sucking in hot hair blown out by the box it was on top of or laying next to. Great price, perfect solution.

[Black] Not many reviews out there of people rack mounting their Denon X3700H. This works perfectly!

[Steel] Item worked great with my VSX-LX805. This Rack Mount is equivalent to 5U spaces. There is a small gap for airflow at the top of the unit. The unit was very easy to mount the rack ears to my Receiver. However, I would suggest laying your rack on it back on the ground to mount to the rack. The grommet spacers were very difficult to fit between the rack mount ears and the rack by myself. you may need a second set of hand to get them in the right place before screwing down to the rack. Overall great product and great price!

[Steel] These rack ears are very solid. They are strong and made of thick metal stock. I recommend these for anyone needing 2u rack ears. I did not use them with a Quest Amp, so I cannot comment on their fit with a Quest Amp.
