Q: 1. I neeed to switch the screw size to fit my Nikon D90. I am turning top disk counter clock wise per instructions but things aren't moving. I see on amazon there should be an Allen wrench in box, i didn't get one, is this needed to turn disk and change screw orientation?

A: Yes you need the Allen Wrench to unscrew the screws holding the base to the monopod first. Once you unscrew them turn it over(flip the sides) which has reverse screw size suitable for your camera. Then re-screw the base to the monopod. If the wrench was lost you will have to get one from a hardware store.

Q: 2. What's the difference between this one and the P-224SR monopod?

A: The discontinued Sirui P224SR Carbon-Fiber Photo/Video Monopod with Folding Tilt Base does not include a head and is made with carbon-fiber material. The current Sirui Aluminum 4 Section Monopod with Feet and VA5 Head has the VA5 Head, is made with aluminum material, and Sirui added the Dual Safety Lock System.

Q: 3. what country is this item manufactured in?

A: It is made in China.

Q: 4. Will this fit the new Yolobox Pro?

A: no it will Not as the Yolo box pro model is a bit larger

Q: 5. The specs give the package weight as 1 lbs. What is the weight of the monopod itself?

A: The monopod is 0.95 pounds.

Q: 6. What size is the screw for the foot?

A: The foot does not detach from the monopod.

Q: 7. I have a Nikon D90. Do i simply put the camera on the top of the monopod or do a need to buy a desperate attachment piece?

A: You could put your Nikon D90 directly on the monopod, but it generally better to use a head with a quick release to allow for easy on or off. Here is a good example of one:http://bhpho.to/Iwakv7

Q: 8. Can I put a base on this monopod?

              A: No, you can't.

Q: 9. Is the plate on the VA5 head Arca compatible?

A: Yes, it is Arca compatible.

Q: 10. Will this fit a Canon T-6 with a Tamron 18-400 lens or would it be to heavy for it?

A: The Canon T6 with the Tamron 18-140mm lens would definitely work well with this monopod.

[3] If you own a YOLO Box Pro then this is a must have. First and foremost it protects the unit itself. It is well made and light weight! The only downside to this unit is the price. It is worth every penny considering the cost of the yolo box pro. Highly recommended!

[4.075 lb] The star feature of the YC Onion Pineta monopod is the single-step lever that allows for the monopod to extend, adjust, lock and unlock seamlessly. You press the safety disengage button and flip the lever up essentially in one movement, set the monopod to where you want it, and then push the lever back down. You're set!

It's a similar concept made popular by Sachtler Flowtech tripods. But I think it's so much more impactful when you're using a monopod for one simple reason: you don't have to bend down or crouch to extend the 3 sections twice (once to unlock, and then again to lock in place).

This makes the monopod a truly nimble support solution for run and gun filmmaking. I love combining run and gun with fixed-off shots. Mixing handheld footage with fixed shots give you a greater range of cinematic expression and this monopod accelerates that type of filmmaking.

The only weakness of this monopod is the ballhead/knob of the tripod feet. First of all, I don't like knobs because they don't visually tell you how locked off they are. Second, you have to bend down to twist it. Third, the knob is rather small and so you have to use quite a bit of effort to make sure it is tight.

Companies like iFootage are creating tripod feet with levers that engage the lock. There's pros and cons to this design. For example, the lever lock tripod feet only locks in the 90 degree center position. You can't lock it in any other position. I've tried it and it's not a fully developed solution yet.

I prefer the ability to tighten down the monopod slightly off center to either balance against the terrain or balance the center weight of the gravity.

Anyways, the good news is that the feet are modular and I am hoping YC Onion releases a true pedal/lever system that removes the need to ever bend down for adjusting the angle of the monopod.

[Twist Lock] I just recently purchased a motorized slider (with these arms), and it provides great stability on my carbon fiber Neewer tripod (which is a lot smaller than my larger/heavy duty Ravelli tripod).

[Aluminum] The stability arms are the perfect solution to having to carry 2 tripods or multiple light or c-stands
