Offering extensive perspective and focus control along with the convenience of working with your digital camera, the black Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body with 15mm Lens for Canon RFfrom Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body with 15mm Lens for Canon RFeffectively transforms your digital camera or back into a digital view camera. As the core component within a modular system, this view camera body serves as the primary piece from which you can pair a digital camera body with a variety of lenses to reap the benefits of geared camera movements for correcting perspective distortions, achieving an extended depth of field, or producing creative selective focus effects. While resembling traditional large format view cameras in function, the ACTUS system also echoes the compact form factor of the digital cameras it is designed to be paired with and is optimized for use in both the studio as well as on location.

This view camera body is delivered with a 6.1" monorail as well as a 4.9" bellows to permit working with a variety of lens and camera types. The monorail is designed to fit within the Arca-Swiss style quick release system for easy mounting to a tripod, and is also fitted with both 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 mounts for attaching quick release plates. Optional lensplates can be added depending on your desired lens type, and the monorail and bellows is also interchangeable with optional wide-angle and longer versions of each.

A full system of movements offers extensive control over perspective and focusing settings. Geared on-axis tilt and swing movements are performed on the front standard and the rear standard permits geared rise/fall and horizontal shift movements:

  • Rear Rise/Fall: +0.5", -0.6" / +12mm, -15mm
  • Rear Shift: +/- 0.8" / 20mm
  • Front Swing: 360°
  • Front Tilt: +10°, -9°

The swing and tilt movements of the front standard rotate about the optical axis in order to avoid having to re-compose or re-focus after each movement is applied.

  • Requires additional AC-792 or AC-793 Bayonet Holder, for use with Fujifilm GFX or Hasselblad X1D camera systems; AC-78E Bayonet Holder and dedicated camera mount bayonet, for use with Canon EF, Canon EF-M, Nikon F, Leica M, Sony E, Pentax K, Micro Four Thirds, Olympus OM-D, or Fujifilm X camera systems; or ACDB-989 SLW Interface Adapter Plate Holder and ACDB-series bellows, for use with select digital backs.

  • Revised rear standard features geared horizontal shift and is compatible with removable bayonet holders.

  • Both fine geared and quick-slide focusing adjustment types are available.

  • Bellows and monorail focusing allows you to achieve closer focusing distances without the use of extension tubes or other macro attachments.

  • Zero-position clicks are incorporated into each movement type for more intuitive handling.

  • Monorail is compatible with the Arca-Swiss-style quick release system and also features both 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 mounts.

  • Front tilts and swings allow you to alter the plane of focus for employing selective focus techniques or Scheimpflug settings for extensive depth of field. Additionally, these tilt and swing movements are used to correct for convergence and other perspective distortions.

  • Rear horizontal and vertical shifts allow you to move the camera position while retaining the same lens position, making this configuration especially ideal for stitching multiple exposures without having to adjust the lens.

  • This black finish body is anodized for greater durability and scratch resistance.

  • Compact overall form factor is relative to the size of DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

As the central component within the modular ACTUS system, this view camera body serves as the means to which you can attach a variety of optional lens plates and camera bayonet mounts. Additionally, besides the standard included bellows and monorail, a variety of optional bellows and monorails are available for wide-angle and close-focusing/macro shooting applications.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What’s the difference between the Actus G system and the Actus MV for use with a Fuji GFX 100 II?

A: The Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body with AC-792 Bayonet Holder for FUJIFILM G is very good. The difference between that and the Cambo ACTUS-MV View Camera Body with AC-214 Bellows and ACMV-862 Mount Kit, B&H #CAACMVF50K, is that the MV has almost double the movement capability in any direction.

Q: 2. HI~Can I use a Canon 17mm TS-E lens? Is there any problem with the image circle? If possible, is the focal length maintained at 17mm?

A: Most would not use a tilt shift lens on a device that has tilt and shift. But technically it should work. You will need this Canon EF adapter, Cambo ACB-CA Lensplate with Canon EF Bayonet Mount (Black) BH #CALPCELBB • MFR #99070720 https://bhpho.to/3am0oSh The lens is very wide but covers full frame format. It does depend on the camera you are attaching to the setup but in general it will cover the image and be 17mm.

Q: 3. I also have Hasselblad X system digital back, Do I simply buy a rear plate for the digital back and I can use the same camera body?

A: This version would be needed for the XCD mount lenses and camera: https://bhpho.to/3ylTJ88

Q: 4. Will the Canon M6 Mark II work on the Actus-B2?

A: This an EF mount on the ACTUS-B2. While it is possible to adapt for use with an EF-M camera, it has not been tested to our knowledge.

Q: 5. Hello. I own two DSLR bodies, a Canon Rebel SL1 with APS-C sensor and a Nikon D800 with a full-frame sensor. I also have a large array of Nikkor full-frame lenses. May I use the Actus-B2 with Canon EF mount to pair the APS-C Rebel SL1 with a full-frame Nikkor lens to provide a greater circle of coverage for view camera movements? Thank you very much.

A: This will not enable the use of Nikon lenses on an EF body; the purpose of this device is to use DSLR lenses effectively as a view camera (large format). You can instead use an adapter.

Q: 6. Will this work with the Canon 6D? and will it work with my EF lenses, or would I have to purchase different lenses?

A: This Bayonet Mount kit would also be compatible with the Canon 6D. The Lensplates/mounts are sold separately, so you would need to purchase a Lensplate to use the Cambo ACTUS-B2. That being said, there is a Canon EF Lensplate, so you would be able to use your Canon EF lenses.

Q: 7. Would this system work with my mirrorless EOS R? I still shoot EF via an adapter, but not sure that would affect the function.

A: If you are using the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R on the Canon EOS R Mirrorless Camera, you can mount your setup directly on the Cambo ACTUS-B2 View Camera Body with Canon EF Bayonet Mount Kit (Black) without issue.

Q: 8. does this work on the Canon 5ds r camera?

A: Yes, this is compatible with the Canon 5DS R.

Q: 9. Does it work with the Schneider lens 28mm f 5.6?

A: Without knowing exactly which lens you are referring to I cannot give a solid answer, however generally speaking with large format lenses 47mm-60mm and longer should work (depending on the rear element size). Anything wider than that that isn't one of the Cambo Actar 24 lenses cannot be guaranteed.

Q: 10. When working with Nikon d810, using AF lenses is not possible, I understand correctly?

A: Unfortunately, Nikon F mount autofocus lenses cannot work with this product.

[2.5 lb / 1150 g] The Nikon F to Canon RF works if you have a lens with manual aperture adjustment. I bought it for the Zeiss Milvus 15mm lens and it works fine with it.

[3.505 lb] the unit is nicely made and the lens appears to lock up firmly.

unfortunately the infinity focus is off w/ some lenses.

it may be the case that the lenses i'm using are the problem

[3.505 lb] I just love this lens, I use it with my Cambo Actus and Fuji GFX. I do mainly architecture and landscapes and this lens is perfect for it. Look at the first test shot I did.

[3.505 lb] After more than 25 years with Minolta and SONY equipment, I have made the switch to Canon. This adapter is indispensable for the transition. It allows me to continue using Minolta lenses while I decide which Canon lenses to buy.

[3.505 lb] The Sony A7 rIV is working nicely combined with Mamiya RZ lenses. Much less clumsy than the old Sinar P setup I was using. Now wanting the rear tilt accessory...

[3.505 lb] This is the perfect lens for ultra wide angle sunsets/sunrises. Very sharp. The biggest knock on it was that it doesn't have a very short minimum focus distance, but that doesn't matter to me. This lens is very well built and has a nice heft to it on my S5. Feels good to get away from auto focus once in awhile and going back to manual focus. For the price, this lens is wonderful.

[2.5 lb / 1150 g] I fiddled with tilt shift lenses for some time and was never completely happy with their performance. The Cambo Actus-G (BH# CAAGCBBK) is a much more flexible solution and is only a bit more expensive than some of the tilt-shift lenses. Of course you do need to buy a suitable lens with a large image circle. I'm using this with a Nikon F mount camera and a Mamiya RZ lens adapter. I already had the Mamiya lenses so it was a no brainer. It did take a bit of time to figure out exactly what other items were needed but essentially You'll need 3 other pieces besides the body. The lens plate. I suggest a medium format lens like the Mamiya RB/RZ lenses. BH# CALPMRBRZB, The camera bayonet holder (Cambo AC-78E) BH# CAOBHDSLR and the camera bayonet plate BH# CABKNF. This is a very flexible system and using the bayonet holder (AC-78E) you can get different plates for about $70 so I could add in a mirrorless body just with a new bayonet plate. I don't know if it's by accident or intentionally but the Actus-G molded packaging fits perfectly inside a Pelican 1300 case - BONUS!
This will also focus to infinity so it works fine for architecture as well as tilting or swinging the focal plane for product photography.

[3.505 lb] This little device will protect your Canon camera when the lens is off the body. You do not want to leave the lens opening open for any length of time. Dust and other items may get in and damage the camera. Put this on the camera body the minute you take the lens off. A good proection device.

[3.505 lb] Bought this lens for doing Landscape and star trails. The lens really surprised me with the build quality and butter smooth turning of the focus. The Aperture stops have clicks which I like. I use this lens on my Nikon Z6II. Doing star trails with this lens is simply fantastic. The color rendition of the glass and beautiful star effects on bright lights simply looks great. Great sharpness too. Anyone looking into getting a wide landscape/Astro lens should really consider this lens. I plan on purchasing more lenses from 7artisans. As always, BH Photo service is second to none.
