[18.75 lb] This is an amazing piano bench that I DO NOT use for a piano.   I do a lot of sim racing and some of my setups are portable and require a sturdy adjustable seat.   This Piano Bench from Auray is perfect.  I weigh 200+ lbs and the seat is extremely comfortable even for long duration.   The Hydraulic height adjustment is fluid and reliable with no skipping or sudden lowering.   When it comes to the assembly, it literally took less than 5 minutes.  8 screws and the supplied tools and the bench was assembled and ready to use.   This is a great bench and well worth the investment.   [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

[18.75 lb] This small bench looks sleek and has other uses outside of just being used for playing the piano. I've used this bench for short form interviews and as a very comfortable bench for myself while I'm behind the camera.

The description of this bench on B&H's site says that it is made of solid steel construction and given its hefty weight - I believe it. The bench feels like it could last a lifetime! To me this bench looks classy and has a sophisticated look because of the black finish. When I first started as a filmmaker I didn't put much attention into the way things looked on set, but I do now and this bench fits right in with my all black aesthetic in my studio space.

The hydraulic height adjustment (17 to 23.3) is smooth and the cushion and nice and soft.

Something to note is that the bench I have did NOT come with nonslip feet. The bench I have came with felt padded feet (see picture). These felt pads actually work better for me given that I'd probably move this bench around often so being able to gently slide the bench rather than having to pick it up is better for my back.

Whether you have a studio space or a piano, this little guy gets the job done!

[18.75 lb] The Auray PBM-HYD-19 Piano Bench comes in a very well packed sturdy box and the assembly is MINIMAL. Literally 2 minutes.

The seat is very comfortable. But the best part is the hydraulic height adjustment. It's so sensitive to the touch, it lowers and rises SO nicely and smoothly. When you let go, it will STAY. It's almost like a little elevator. When seated, you can lower it without getting off of it but to raise, of course, you must take your weight off the unit.

When you seat on it, it is very sturdy, no wobbling or anything like that. It has felt protection at the bottom for hardwood flooring.

The entire assembly is made of metal. 

Now... I have the finesse when it comes to assembly. [None of this is required in the manual, this is just my suggestion].To assemble: Just like a snare drum, (I'm a drummer and it requires the same finesse) when you tighten the screws, screw by hand first until it stops. 

Second: Start with the top base first (the seat) don't tighten just 1 screw all the way while the other ones are loose. It throws off the tension balance. Inter all scores tightening by hand, then, GRADUALLY tighten all 4 screws per tier, little by little in an X or zigzag pattern, until all 4 screws are all tighten. 

Do the same for the floor piece. 

This bench can also be useful as a computer seat in my photography studio, or anything else you’d like a comfortable bench to sit on, instead of just for music purposes. I just won't have something to lean my back on it but it's no big deal.

[Steel] I'm going to start first with the packaging. I was expecting a fairly tall and bulky shipping box, but it is actually a very conveniently sized, package, no higher than 8 as the legs come disassembled, and that's the only thing that you have to assemble and takes minutes. It also comes with a real wrench that you can keep and use for many other purposes. It also comes in white if desired.

Everything is made of metal and its kinda heavy, which is what you want. It stays in place when you play the piano. I also tune pianos, which means, I have to slide across the bench as I tune and the bench doesn't move.

Another GREAT use for this bench is for photography. GREAT for people to sit on it for studio headshots, which I'm definitely going to use it for.

This bench (for the price) does not feature a storage compartment and it's not as wide of a bench, like...fitting two people, but if you need more bench space and storage, Impact make it as well. I'm happy with this size. Search for the BH #AUPBMFS


It also features adjustments on two of the legs for uneven floors.

Now the price: This bench will last me several years, it's made of metal, and it costs LESS than 4 packs of cigarettes... An unusual way to compare but just to give you a blunt idea of how good this investment is. Some things of equal value goes quick, while this bench will stay with you for many years.

I'm quite pleased with this item and serves me for two purposes: Piano / Synth playing and Studio use!
