Designed for APS-C-format cameras, this compact and portable lens has a 38.4mm full-frame equivalent focal length.

Compatible with Canon EF-M-mount cameras, the lens's bright f/1.7 maximum aperture lets you work in low-light conditions. Additionally, its large aperture enables you to precisely control depth of field to isolate subjects when using selective focus techniques.

Two ED (low-dispersion) elements and two high-refraction elements help reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color neutrality.

De-clicked aperture ring allows for smooth and quiet adjustments, which are especially useful when filming video.

Ribbed focus ring provides a pleasing tactile experience when manually focusing.

Easy-to-read depth of field scales for determining in and out of focus areas.

Offering excellent subject separation, a nine-blade diaphragm provides pleasing background blur, also known as bokeh.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is this lens compatible with the canon rebel T8i ?

A: Yes, this is a fabulous lens for the Rebel T8i! It will have a equivalent focal length perfect for everyday shooting, street photography, cityscapes, etc.

Q: 2. Where is this lens made?

A: The following unit is made in Japan.

Q: 3. is this lens ideal for astrophotography? mainly milky way photographs.

A: I purchased this lens primarily for Milky Way and other night sky photos. As another person indicated in their answer, there seems to be no problem with vignetting or chromatic aberration. However the coma is bad, even when stopping down 2 full stops. That surprised me since I have a cheap Rokinon 14 mm lens and get almost no coma on that even wide open at f/2.8. I kept the Canon 24 mm lens though because it is great for landscape photography.

Q: 4. How would you compare this to a 35mm?

A: It is a bit wider and a tiny bit more distortion but still an incredibly sharp lens.

Q: 5. What is the conversion ratio on an RF lens camera?

A: Currently, all RF-mount cameras are full-frame. There will be no crop/crop-factor applied to the RP/R/R6/R5 when using the adapter.

Q: 6. can we used this lens in Sony A7R3

A: The Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM Lens is designed for use on the Canon EF lens mount, while the Sony Alpha a7RIII Mirrorless Digital Camera uses the smaller Sony E-mount lens mount. As such, you need a lens adapter to connect the above lens to your camera. If you purchase either the Metabones Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Sony E Mount T Smart Adapter (Fifth Generation), B&H # MEMBEFEBT5, or the Vello Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Auto Lens Adapter, B&H # VELAESECEF, you may use the Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM Lens, B&H # CA2414L2EF, on the Sony Alpha a7RIII Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Q: 7. Any issues with CPLs on 24mm on a full-frame (6D) camera? Thanks.

A: You may get vignetting with a standard filter, which is why a slim or thin polarizer would be best.

Q: 8. Does this lens come with a hood?

A: yes

Q: 9. Will this lens work on a Canon EOS Rebel T5 1200D?

A: Yes, the Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L is compatible with the Canon EOS Rebel T5.

Q: 10. Does this lens fit a Canon 5D mark III?

A: Yes it does. Any red ring L lens will fit the 5D mk3.

[9] For a sub $100 lens, I was genuinely impressed—especially by its remarkable f/1.4 aperture. While it does exhibit some quirks like flaring and hazing, particularly when shooting into a light source, even with a slight stop down, it’s important to note that I’m accustomed to pro-quality lenses. Nevertheless, given its affordable price point, I’m excited to expand my collection with the rest of the lineup. This lens stands out as a compact gem, offering worry-free durability that makes it perfect for everyday use.

[61°] I had not so good luck with two other 7artisans lenses but this one is great!
The Fuji mount fits very tightly, but this is not a show stopper.
The optics are very good and central sharpness wide open is excellent. Corner to corner, it sharpens up extremely well by F5.6. I shoot mostly landscape and in low light wide open it is surprisingly sharp across the frame.
It has a large rear element and I've not noticed much vignetting.
Focus and aperture rings move smoothly. No detents for aperture and I would prefer detents, but again this is not a show stopper.
I haven't seen much Flare, if any.
Bokeh near and far is very nice, no onion rings seen.
This is a low cost fully manual (no electronics) lens, so I don't expect it to be equal to Zeiss Otus lenses, but I have been thrilled with its high performance, definitely punching above its weight optically.

[Manual Focus] Great lens once you 'get to know it'. I first photographed rolling hills (without having something in the foreground) and they looked like they were miles away. The photos are clean, clear and great looking once you have a something in the foreground and distance.

[f/1.4] I bought several 7 Artisan lenses - this fits the Lumix G95 far better than the 50mm F.095 for infinity / distance shooting. It is remarkably good glass, solid build and light weight. It is certainly sharp at slightly before F2 and onward. I have found it to be a very useful bit of Kit. The two photos show full frame and then a crop of the Moon - at F 8 - 10. It also has very good color rendition. At the price point it is an incredible buy.

[Canon EF-M] I love it, only take back… no auto focus.
But all in all you get what you paid for.
