Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the dimension of the mic , I wanted something that is thin ... so that I can put a lav concealer with it ?

A: The Hollyland LARK MAX HL-OLM02 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone measures 120mm x 70mm x 20mm.

Q: 2. Will it work with the Shure MVL?

A: Yes, the transmitters included with the Hollyland LARK MAX Duo 2-Person Wireless Microphone System can be used with the Shure MOTIV MVL Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone.

Q: 3. Can you use a lavalier from another system, like Sennheiser with the Lark Max transmitter?

A: You can use lavalier microphones from other wireless systems that use a non-locking 3.5mm connector. The transmitters included with the Hollyland LARK MAX Duo 2-Person Wireless Microphone System have a non-locking 3.5mm input and Sennheiser-compatible microphones have a locking 3.5mm input. The locking ring on the Sennheiser mic can interfere with the connection to the non-locking input, so they may not make a proper connection. You can use a mic like the Saramonic SR-M1 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone Cable with 3.5mm TRS Connector (B&H # SASRM1) or the Shure MOTIV MVL Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (B&H # SHMVL35MM).

Q: 4. Does this kit include lavaliers?

A: The Hollyland LARK MAX Duo does not include any external lavalier microphones.

Q: 5. Does the Hollyland split internal audio recordings into 30-minute files like the DJI and Rode?

A: Yes. The built-in recorders on the transmitters for the Hollyland LARK MAX Duo 2-Person Wireless Microphone System have 8GB of memory to store the recorded audio in mono WAV files at 48 kHz/24-bit. When the recording lasts for an extended period, the files will be split automatically every 30 minutes. If the storage is full, newly recorded audio will overwrite the older recorded audio.

Q: 6. Can these lavaliers be used on 3rd-party transmitters with a 3.5mm microphone jack?

A: Yes, the Hollyland LARK MAX HL-OLM02 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone Set (2-Pack, Black) can be used with other transmitters or devices which have a non-locking 3.5mm microphone input jack.

Q: 7. Is it possible to lock REC button on transmitter?

A: It is not possible to lock the REC button on the Hollyland LARK MAX Duo 2-Person Wireless Microphone System (2.4 GHz, Black).

Q: 8. Where can we get replacement batteries?

A: The Hollyland LARK MAX Duo uses built-in rechargeable batteries, which are not user-replaceable.

Q: 9. When using a single wired lav microphone while recording in Safety Track mode record 2 audio tracks at varying levels?

A: Yes, the Hollyland LARK MAX Duo 2-Person Wireless Microphone System does have the ability to record a safety track to give you recorded audio at two different levels.

Q: 10. Any issues with audio drift on the internal recorder? I still have issues on the DJI even after the firmware update.

A: We have not heard of any issues with audio drift on the internal recorder for the Hollyland LARK MAX Duo 2-Person Wireless Microphone System.

[0.04 lb] I do a ton of work for podcasts, interviews and I just started to get into content creation. I have used other wireless systems in the past but they were always bulky and took up a lot of space in my bags. When I first opened the box and the case I was blown away at the actual compactness of the transmitters and receiver. The premium feel of the carrying case, charging case and the two transmitters and receiver were a welcomed sigh of relief that these were robust enough for long term wear and tear usage.

I thought to myself there was no way that this was going to sound as good as the bigger lav systems and I can honestly say that I was totally wrong! The first thing I did when I took a transmitter and receiver out of the case was I placed my headphones in to monitor my voice and my eyes lit up like it was Christmas Morning. It was really refreshing to hear how pristine and clear the audio was and even when I tried to make the audio clip on purpose, the technology within the transmitter seems to allow a higher ceiling for wiggle room straight out of the box without messing with any settings at all. This is great for post production for when reviewing audio tracks on the timeline to make things seamless and spending less time on levels to get things just right. There were no drop outs in audio quality from a distance and even if the transmitter and receiver happen to lose connection the recording feature and safety track are there to rescue you.

The ergonomics of having magnets on the transmitter is also nice when your clients are wearing thin garments like cotton t-shirts, linen or silk and you aren't using a wired lavalier accessory. This I greatly appreciate since it is warm mainly year-round where I live.

I believe that this is a great addition to my kit and will stay in my bag for a long time. Truly impressed!!!

[0.04 lb] I wanted to buy something that was a bit more robust from what I had.
This its amazing, the quality build, the charging case, the fuzzy cats for the wind, the magnets, the whole presentation and the ease of operation just won my heart...
You have to try it for your on good, I do own the SolidCom1 and they are fantastic so with no worries I jumped on to this, cause I know they got me cover in every aspect. Quality, reception, and something that is very important, the humans behind this company, every time I ask for a question, there is someone ready to answer my doubt.
So costumer service is a Plus for my decision.

[0.04 lb] You can see from all reviews, that this little guy is awesome. My only complaint is that the people filmed had their phones in their pocket, so When I used a lav mic with the LARK MAX in their pocket there was interference. I took me a while to find out that it was the cell phones causing this!

[0.04 lb] The Hollyland Lark Max excels as a user-friendly portable microphone system geared towards run-and-gun filmmakers and social media content creators. The mics boast a compact design, 24-bit audio quality, and an intuitive touch screen interface on the vivid LCD receiver. The Lark Max includes a Vivid LCD Receiver, 2 Mic Transmitters, 2 windscreens, 2 magnets, audio cables, charging and connectivity cords, a charging case, and a zippered storage pouch, all contributing to its appeal.

Its 820-foot transmission range and cost-effective pricing make it a standout choice in the market. The extended battery life and 8 GB of internal recording storage add flexibility for prolonged recording sessions. Additionally, its versatility allows it to function as an external recorder that integrates well with phones, action cameras, and mirrorless camera systems. I wish it had bluetooth connectivity to wirelessly pair with devices without the need of the receiver so you could just use one or two of the mics transmitting to an action camera, phone, or computer. I’m hoping the next iteration of the mics will include this feature.

A few drawbacks include the absence of a record lock button and a relatively small record button, which might pose challenges for some users. The discreet red record light is a plus though! Navigating the menu system may require acclimatization, especially for those familiar with the DJI Mic system. Furthermore, when utilizing the system with a phone, users find the cord length comparatively longer than the more compact connection featured in the DJI Mic system. Perhaps, the most notable drawback, particularly for audiophiles, is the absence of 32-bit float audio, a feature that could have been the proverbial icing on the cake.

Despite these considerations, the Hollyland Lark Max remains a versatile and affordable choice for those seeking a budget-friendly and feature-rich wireless microphone system for on-the-go filmmaking. I hope this helps in your jo

[Black] The Hollyland LARK MAX Duo 2-person wireless microphone system has been a great addition to my recording equipment. Not only are they super easy to use, but also sport great sound quality and pick up!

With the USB-C to USB-C, I am able to directly connect these mics to my computer for simple and easy viewing and editing of my recorded sound clips.

There is also a USB-C to Lightening cable, which allows me to use the microphones as my audio pick up when recording on my iPhone. Which is super cool!!

There is a TRS to TRS microphone cable which connects into the camera. And with the back clip, these little mics slip nicely into the hot shoe or cold shoe of the camera.

There is also an additional USB-C to USB cable if that kind of connection is needed.

The manual explains well how to pair the mics and use the different settings.

The sealed case is very nice and compact (see photos below).

The wind shields work well, but beyond that the noise canceling option does a nice job of cutting out those background noises you don't want while recording.

In the photos below one can see the mic system as well as how easy it is to attach them onto one's camera or person for recording.

Overall this is an excellent microphone system, and I'm looking forward to using it more in my recordings.

[0.04 lb] This system seemed to start out as a sleeper; a decent second choice option. It’s now all over the internet; everywhere you look. Rave ratings . Countless reviews and “how to’s”. And now, in my experience and opinion, well deserved! So I won’t add more of the same. But will say that after using this Hollyland system as a wireless mic AND recording device for video production as far as I’m concerned it is in the top tier and cannot be beat for quality and performance. Especially for the price. Woe be unto all the so-called “front runners.” This system is a David in the land of Goliaths.

[Black] We produce video footage as an in-house studio for our corporation's marketing. Much of our work is outside on locations. We had a long discussion over the Lark Max Duos, because no one had used them, so the argument for more familiar brands was strong. But we took a chance on the Hollylands based on some solid reviews on their low ambient noise, clean recordings and the potential for a safety track. We record through the Hollylands into a Zoom H6 in order to monitor the levels more closely, but on Friday last week we lost about a minute of audio recording at a critical point in the presentation. Due to an error in communication, we didn't roll sound on the H6. Thankfully, the Hollyland lav on the presenter's mic was set to record and we never turn that off except for longer breaks (the battery life is extraordinary). When we discovered the gap in the H6 recording, we thought we'd have to get the CEO to do a voice over to patch the glitch, and made arrangements with him to schedule it. Then we remembered the constant recording on the Holland Lark Max! Saved the day! We've been using these now for about 3 months, and they have done away with the reservations held by members of our team, back when they argued for more costly options. Really good product.

[0.04 lb] My client required a fast mobile setup for conducting interviews at a conference. Already owning some headset units, I thought that if these new ones performed even half as well, we'd be set. We took a chance and purchased them with limited knowledge about their capabilities, and I must say, the team and I were pleasantly surprised.

Firstly, the fact that they arrived pre-charged and ready to use straight from the packaging was a game-changer. We actually unboxed them right on the convention floor. After spending just about five minutes acquainting myself with the units, I felt confident enough to brief the team.

In terms of functionality, these devices were efficient, user-friendly, and intuitive. Though we did encounter some interference-likely due to the bustling atmosphere of the convention-our backup system came through for us.

Overall, we're extremely satisfied with both the product and its quality.

Pro tip: I took a Sharpie and obscured the brand's logo and lettering. I found it to be a bit distracting and didn't want it to be the focus in any of our recorded videos.
