With a housing machined from solid aluminum, the Brunton Standard Transit Compass, in gold, will meet your needs in the field. This 0-90 quadrant-style configuration of the Standard Transit series uses an NeFeB disk magnet that resists demagnetization and improves shock resistance. Induction dampening makes for a quick-settling needle, and sapphire jewel bearing allows for smooth needle movement. The azimuth and the inclinometer deliver 1/2° accuracy with 1° graduations. Percent grade is displayed with 5% graduations. The compass is equipped with long and short sights, as well as a transparent sight in the mirror for shooting accurate bearings within 1/2°. Its flat nonslip silicone base allows for low-angle strike and dip measurements. Finally, this exquisite instrument is designed with your refreshment in mind—a low-profile bottle opener is built-in so you can enjoy a cool beverage at the end of a day in the field.

[1°] I bought this compass for my husband's birthday. He loved it except for one thing... mRad scale. I didn't look close enough at the description. He asked me to exchange it for a compass with the 0-360 measurements. 5

[0.5°] I’m a huge fan on using battery powered equipment. Camera, lights, monitors and everything in between. These batteries are super light weight and last a long time. We literally used one of these on a Komodo the other day and it last the whole day. I remember my AC mentioning he never changes the battery after shooting for hours on end. Build quality is superb! Light as a feather, well not really but you get the point. These little batteries make our equipment lighter which my arms thank me for at night.. You can’t go wrong with AB and you definitely can’t go wrong with these batteries for the price. 5
