Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this Adapter OK to use with a Rode Video Mic Go Shotgun connecting to a Tascam 70D for phantom power? If it is what should the setting on the Tascam 70D be 24v or 48v?

A: No. You should not send phantom power to the Rode Video Mic. It operates on its own internal battery, which is charged via the USB cable.

Q: 2. Will this work to conect a Hollyland lark max into a Zoom Podtrak?

A: The RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter can be used to connect a wireless receiver, such as the Hollyland Lark Max, to the XLR input of an audio recorder. However, the audio signal passed through the adapter can only be mono.

Q: 3. Will this work with the Shure VP83? I believe the Shure is mono...

A: Yes the Rode VXLR - Mono Mini-Jack to XLR Converter will work with the mono Shure VP83.

Q: 4. Can I use this to send PC audio from the Headphone output to a Speaker system using XLR?

A: The RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter wouldn't be recommended for use with a laptop headphone jack, as it is intended for a mono mic signal. Instead, a stereo breakout cable such as B&H # HOHMX003Y would be better to use.

Q: 5. Can this be used with a diety d3 pro?

A: Yes, you can use the VXLR adapter with the Deity mic.. The VXLR adapter converts 3.5mm TRS to XLR. Since the Deity mic uses a 3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm TRRS cable and you need TRS to TRS, swap out the original mic cable and use a standard stereo aux cable such as the Kopul CMX-RC30 Right-Angle Coiled Stereo Mini Cable - Black, 8 to 30" (B&H # KOCMXRC30B).

Q: 6. I need to connect a Rode Newsshooter receiver to a mixer input. Is this my solution?

A: Yes, the RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter would be a good solution for connecting the mono output of a wireless receiver to a mixer's XLR input.

Q: 7. Can I connect an RX from the Rode Wireless Go II to a mixer, using the RODE SC11 and 2 RODE VXLRs, so I can have a microphone on each channel?

A: You can use the Rode SC11 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Y-Splitter Cable and two Rode VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapters to connect the output from the Rode Wireless GO II Receiver to the inputs on a mixer. As another option, you can use a 3.5mm TRS male to dual XLR male Y-cable like the Cable Techniques 3.5mm Right-Angle TRS to Dual Low-Profile 3-Pin XLR Male Y Cable - 15" B&H # CATGO2YX3M15), the Hosa Technology Pro Stereo Breakout Cable - 3.5mm Stereo Mini to Dual 3-Pin XLR Male - 3' (B&H # HOHMX003Y), or the Azden MX-2 - Y Cable for 200UPR & 320UPR with 1/8" (3.5mm) Mini to Dual XLR Connection (B&H # AZMX2).

Q: 8. Will it work to connect Videomic Pro to Canon XA20 XLR input?

A: it works with any mono mini-jack mic to any XLR... all standard plugs.

Q: 9. I can use the VXLR adapter to connect the Rode to Go to my sound Board mixer instead of the VXLR+?

A: The VXLR adapater can be used to connect a Wireless GO receiver to an XLR mic input on a mixer, but you will need to use the VXLR+ to connect a VideoMic GO or Lavalier GO to an XLR mic input. The VideoMic GO and Lavalier GO both require plug-in power and the VXLR+ can convert phantom power from the mixer into plug-in power to safely power the mics. The VXLR adapter will not convert phantom power to plug-in power. A wireless transmitter does not require any power from the mixer to function so you only need to convert the 3.5mm plug on the receiver's output cable to XLR for connection to the mixer's input.

Q: 10. Will this allow me to use the microphone on an external headset to record with a Tascam DR-40 or Zoom H6?

A: It seems like you are referencing the 3.5mm TRRS connection headset that would usually connect to a smartphone. If that is what you are referencing, then no that will not work with this adapter going into a Tascam DR-40 or Zoom H6.

[3.22 lb] I literally looked everywhere to find an RJ45 to 2 Male/2 Female cable and was just about to resign myself to having to make it myself when I came across these. Very thankful to this company for making them and appreciate the great quality.

[24 AWG] I was interested in the possible sound quality difference between this 50' cable and a really short one (3 to 18). I did a test recording in stereo with the left channel using my really short one (Kopul Coiled 3-Pin XLR-M to Angled 3-Pin XLR-F Cable (3 to 18)) and the right channel using this 50' cable coiled on the floor. I kept mics and recorder exactly the same for the experiment and rotated my setup in the room halfway through in case there was one side of the room that was better than another.

By ear I can detect no difference between the two sides in the recording. Both had no discernible hiss when recording a vocalist.

Fantastic!!

[24 AWG] Just hooked it up and so far is functioning well. The shorter length is just what I needed. In fact it could have been shorter but it worked out just fine. Love the color coded wires. Great for the price too.
