The 43mm Neewer HD Variable ND Filter 43mm 3-7 Stopfrom Neeweris adjustable from 3 to 7 stops, with a rotating ring to reduce light intake and extend exposure time when shooting at slower shutter speeds and wider apertures. Perfect for capturing rivers, waterfalls, light trails, and other moving subjects with dynamic motion blur. The rotation range is limited to approximately 70°, and advanced cutting-edge technology lets you say goodbye to the X-cross mark on images and other common problems with variable ND filters for wide-angle and telephoto lenses. With 30 layers of nano coating, the minimum light reflection rate is less than 0.1%, which reduces glare and ghosting, and blocks UV rays from 300 to 380nm, while ensuring accurate color reproduction.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How many stops is the filter range?

A: The filter's wheel will cut light from 1 to 9 stops, or an optical density of .3 to 2.7. It is not know at this time (11/20/2018) if this filter will also work in lenses that have a similar drop in filter such as the 200-400/4/1.4x lens. An answer to this should be available in January.

Q: 2. Will it work on the Canon EOS C70

A: This would work on the C70.

Q: 3. how bad is the vignette for ultra wide angle lens i.e. 11-24mm, 16-35mm?

A: If it is lens that covers a Full Frame Sensor, such as the Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM Lens B&H # CA11244LUSM, there should not be any vignetting. https://bhpho.to/2bPYxeO

Q: 4. Can this EF-RF adapter accept the Canon Super Telephoto drop-in filter holders?

A: Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter has a built-in/ non removable Nd filter. There are no threads either to screw additional filters. The drop in filter magazine is also smaller than the standard telephoto drop in filter. It's dimensions are 6mm x 53mm x64mm.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with Komodo X?

A: Yes, the Meike Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF to EOS-R with Variable ND Filter is compatible with RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO-X 6K Digital Cinema Camera (Canon RF) when used with EF lenses.

Q: 6. Do they make something like this that doesn't change the lens mount? Basically RF to RF, but allows me to have VND behind lens

A: No, lens adapters are made to connect different mounts. Unfortunately there are no adapters to just enable back VND filters on your RF cameras with their native lenses. Other brands make snap ND filters for the Canon RF camera mount, however they are fixed stops.

Q: 7. Does this include, or even support, the tripod "foot" (that comes with the $164 version, but not the $99 version)?

A: No.

Q: 8. Will this work on a Komodo?

A: While Canon does not list compatibility of the Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter with the RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO 6K Digital Cinema Camera (Canon RF), as the camera uses the Canon RF lens mount, yes, the adapter should be compatible for usage on the Komodo 6K Digital Cinema Camera.

Q: 9. Can we change lenses without removing the adapter? In other words can the adapter stay in the camera when change lens?

A: Yes, the lens can be removed from the Meike Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF to EOS-R with Variable ND Filter without removing the adapter form the camera.

Q: 10. If I use this on a full frame camera will it change the crop factor?

A: No. This adapter does not change the crop factor.

[Glass] If you understand how this filter works and use it properly you will get excellent results. At first I was wary because of some of the negative reviews along with the price, however both points I have proved wrong. First you don't have to spend hundreds to get a good filter, second some people have no business writing reviews. Yes the dreaded X effect it is easy to achieve especially at wide focal range but it is also rather easy to eliminate, If you have the flexibility. Note all these filters have this limitation since they are basically just two polarizing filters. I found no distortions or color problems out of the ordinary and have easily gotten all the results we buy these types of filter for. With this 95mm size using step-down rings I can use this on three of my lenses. I have noted some have mentioned not being able to use lens hoods, not sure how hoods would be used conveniently with a rotating filter to begin with. And the only time I use a lens cap is when I am done for the day. The filter feels solid and well made and the ring moves nice and smooth with no loose play, the filter also comes with a really rugged hard shell case and a lifetime warranty. I have a number of filters some Bower, Hoya and B+W that were way pricey but the 95mm B+W Variable ND is just way over priced IMHO So in the end glad I went with this it has proven I don't need to overpay to get good results

[Glass] I took this filter out on a sunny day and the results were exactly what I hoped for. The adjustment ring is nice and tight so it won't move unless you move it intentionally. Only downfall is that the lens cap won't fit over the filter.

[Aluminum] I do not use this a lot, but when I do it performs as I would expect on my D750 and associated lenses. Would buy it again.

[5.7 x 4 x 1.45"] I haven't had any problems focusing with this filter when set to the lower stops. I haven't tried to focus with the darker side 6-10 stops, but would think any camera would have a problem. Seems to be well made for the price.

[5.7 x 4 x 1.45"] Very easy and precise adjustment of the amount of light entering the lens with this filter. I use it to reduce light intensity in order to use low speeds at panning shots of cars

[5.7 x 4 x 1.45"] Those variable ND filters are PERFECT. I love the fact that is does not have infinity rolling, so you actually know when you're at the minimum or maximum filter value. Just like a regular iris. Way better than the others brands, where there's no physical limit so you can turn it all the way to the max, and suddenly switch to the minimum value...
