Q: 7. can I change the ballhead and if yes how ?

A: Yes, you can change the ball head on the Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB 100 Tripod. You simply unscrew the head from the legs.

Q: 8. Can you remove the spikes on the rubber feet? Most of my pictures are taken on hardwood floors and I don't want the spikes to slip or scratch the floor.

A: The spikes are retractable. So, one can screw the spikes up into the rubber foot, where the spikes would not be in contact with the surface.

Q: 9. Is this the same tripod as the Vanguard Alta Pro 263 AT, just with the added ball head?

A: The Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB 100 and Alta Pro 263 AT are not the same tripod. The 263AB is taller.

Q: 10. Is it change to Sunwayfoto DDC-60i Screw-Knob Clamp (60mm) ?

A: It is our opinion that changing the Vanguard top plate is probably not possible.

[Aluminum] I'VE HAD ONE OF THESE THINGS FOR YEARS. IT'S GREAT FOR GETTING LOW. I BOUGHT THIS ONE TO USE WITH A DIFFERENT BALL HEAD (GOT TIRED OF SWITCHING HEADS). 5

[Twist Lock] I use two of these to hold up a DIY window to prevent lens flare when back lighting. The window is heavy, made of 1/4 MDF wood and covered with duvetyne fabric. It weights almost two pounds. Two clamps on a vertical light stand pole hold it securely. They also work great on horizontal rods of different diameters too. With one curved side and one flat, they work great for clamping reflectors or other flat materials to curved surfaces. Swiss made - should last forever. I can't find anything else to match them. Highly recommended. 5

[3 Positions] I purchased one of these from B&H 15 years ago and it has been my main ball head ever since for general landscape and macro photography. I had several other ball heads before that that never lasted as long as this one has. I chose it primarily because the L shaped locking lever is much easier to operate than the knobs of previous ball heads I owned. Like the other reviewer I have worried that the plastic lever could easily break, but mine has held up. I have had to tighten the small hex screw that holds it in place occasionally, though. With all that said, I paid considerably less for it 15 years ago and I'm not sure I would be willing to pay the current asking if I had to replace it. 5

[Twist Lock] Despite being offered as video tripod, it is an excellent choice for photography. My purchase was based on suggestion of pro-photographers, and I have paired with a Burzynski head for under 300mm and Sachtler fluid head for longer lens or for panning. Either combo is extremely solid. Some notable pros are: easier/faster to setup than twist locks, easy maintenance/cleaning due to not overlapping tube design, and double spike to firmly grip to the ground. All excellent and practical in real life situations. 5

[3 Positions] I've been shooting on these legs for the last couple of years and finally stop borrowing a used set from a friend of mine. These are great and when filming in cold climates it's great because your hands won't freeze up when you grab them. The lock mechanism is reliable as well. 5

[3 Positions] I've owned these legs for a year now. They are lightweight, sturdy, and built with outstanding quality. I love the silver polished aluminum look as it stand out in a crowd. These legs SCREAM quality. You will have to buy an expensive spreader and feet for this, but trust me, the price is worth it. I've owned cheaper tripods and though they weren't as expensive, they quickly fell apart. Sachtler gear is meant to last a lifetime. 5
