Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this fit the Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8 USD VC SP?

A: I do not own this particular Tamron lens. The specs on the B&H website say that it takes a 77 mm filter, so this should work just fine. These screw-on hoods work well with circular polarizers or variable ND filters. I use mine on both my Canon 70-200 f4 and my 100-400 II. Hope this helps.

Q: 2. Would this work with the Meike 50mm T2.1 S35 lens? I need a replacement for the original lens hood.

A: Meike 50mm T2.1 Super 35 Cine Prime Lens has a 77mm front thread, therefore you can thread in the Sensei PRO 77mm Aluminum Lens Hood on your lens.

Q: 3. What Is there a version to fit a larger 150-600mm lens with a 95mm filter size?

A: Heliopan makes 95mm rubber lens hood Heliopan 95mm Screw-in Rubber Lens Hood BH #HELHR95

Q: 4. Will the Nkon 4750 fit my AF-S nikkor 18-55 mm lens?

A: Nikon made multiple lenses with varying filter sizes, you will have to check and see which filter size your lens has, it could be 52mm, 55mm or 58mm.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with Nikon 85mm 1.4G?

A: if the Nikon lens has 77mm screw in filter size it should work fine.

Q: 6. Does the 77mm lens cap fit the Nikkor 24-120 lens?

A: Yes. As the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR Lens has 77mm filter threads, the Nikon 77mm Snap-On Lens Cap, B&H # NILC77, would be compatible for use with the lens.

Q: 7. will this fit my Nikon 24-85 mm lens?

A: No you would need the 72mm Snap-on Lens Cap:http://bhpho.to/1eWQUtJ

Q: 8. Work on Tokina 11-16

A: Yes, the Sensei PRO 77mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood will work with the Tokina atx-i 11-16mm f/2.8 CF Lens.

Q: 9. will this fit Nikon 18-200 lens?

A: As a rule of thumb, the 77mm diameter is used in most Nikon lenses that are a fixed F2.8 aperture. If you have the lens, the size is printed on the barrel somewhere, usually near the glass or by the lens name on the barrel. Otherwise, look at the specs for the lens. It always has this diameter listed. Some F2.8 lenses are exceptions to this size: 105mm F2.8, 60mm F2.8 come to mind. But many of the pro-level Nikon lenses share the 77mm size, which is convenient for both the lens caps and filters. And this comment applies to zooms as well as fixed focal lengths, 17-35 F2.8, 28-70 F2.8, 70-200 F2.8, 12-24 F2.8 DX.

Q: 10. If I put a 58-77mm step up ring and an ND filter on before this lens shade, will there be any vignetting? The question is assuming a 50mm lens on a full frame camera.

A: It's possible you may slide by, it's hard to tell other than trying it.

[77 mm] This filter is easy to put in and easy to remove. The mounting mechanism works really well and the all metal construction is very durable. The filter itself is high quality and works very well. Kolari customer service is also fantastic.

[Brass] After long ago exploring IR images with Kodak chemical films, I purchased the Kolari K665Pro and K720Pro to use on a stock Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and Canon lenses. I chose the Kolari Pro series for their sharp cutoff spectra as well as their filter coatings compared to Kolari's base series or Hoya. The Kolari Pro quality / performance / price point trade-offs were great IMHO. Starting with the 665, I set the camera for manual exposure (typically bracketing around +2) and manual focus (typically longer focus settings), and the stock sensors pick up enough red for good composition and control. It has been a short learning curve and I am most pleased with the images that the Kolari filters are generating: awesome black and white landscapes, cloudscapes, and waterscapes, and excellent starting points for post-processed color shots (native red hue or channel swapped)! No discernible color aberration until I push the image magnification to its pixel limits. The coatings have been great with tough lighting angles - no flares - and stay remarkably clean in windy, dusty environments! Continuing experiments with the 720, which pushes the limits of the stock sensors but still works well. Highly recommend the Kolari 665Pro for anyone getting into IR!!!

[Glass] Works great on full spectrum cameras. Lets you get into the deep infrared on 720nm or higher converted cameras.

[Glass] I’m new to IR photography. I’m using a Sony F828 with the magnet hack (Google it) & various external filters. I started with standard filters such as 720nm & 850nm but wanted something to pass more color for a more interesting twist. This 550nm delivers; it was worth the wait. It’s a lot of fun and making me enjoy photography again. There’s a lot of information out there about post-processing. Play with channel swapping (Photoshop channel mixer) to flex your creative muscles.

I posted a review of the 665 and can not say enough positives about it!!! 5 stars!!!

Still experimenting with the 720. It is slightly more technically challanging on a stock camera, but just as impressive as the 665 so far. Highly recommend the Kolari Pro Gen series for anyone getting into IR!!!
