The KM-IP8S4 vMix Studio Switcher from JVC is a 2 RU rackmount studio switcher with eight IP inputs via NDI, four bidirectional SDI ports, and support for SRT, RTSP, RTMP/VLC, and UDP. Four downstream keyers provide a generous array of image control options, while 10 overlays, PTZ control, web remote, and chroma key support round out some of the stand-out features on this versatile switcher, which also offers ISO recording and instant replay of all inputs, with an internal 500GB SSD for recording at up to 1080p60 and one 500GB SSD dedicated to the operating system.

There are four DisplayPort outputs for GUI, PVW/PGM, Multiview, and Aux as well as network video outputs with support for NDI, SRT, RTMP/S, H.264, and H.265. Other outputs include one 3G-SDI and one HDMI with embedded audio. Audio is also embedded on all the other inputs and outputs, and a 3.5mm line in/microphone connector provides a solution for integrating analog audio into your program. The KM-IP8S4 comes with its own standard keyboard and mouse.

The LED light specs are USB-powered, 3000-6000k temperatures from soft white all the way up to crisp daylight. Brightness and other info about the light is not provided by PTZoptics at this moment.

[2 RU] This software has been solid, and includes so many features it will be awhile to learn them all. You can look broadcast quality with a single piece of software, including bringing in remote guests for free. But best of all has been the company's support. Quick and responsive. There are a few updates each year, and many this year with Covid to help users. 5

[2 RU] I have used this software for years. I promoted this software for the school districts in my area over the NewTek Tricaster, OBS studio and others. I find this the easiest to use. You don't have to go looking for plugins for features except for audio processing. For that you can use professional plugins, some are free and other you pay for. Because I process audio with a mixer, I find that I don't need them. I use one PTZ camera and NewTek NDI on the PC to mix several shots and the projection for our church. They have several versions to meet your video switching needs. Check out vMix YouTube channel. My only complaint is that the PTZ function is not available in the HD version and because of that i had to buy the 4K. 5

[SDI HDMI] I tried a few of the competing platforms. vMix surpasses the others by far... including the free options out there. The full access trial gave me ample time to navigate through the ins and outs of the software. The business model is awesome in that you are not handcuffed to a subscription model. vMix call is the feature that puts it over the top. One suggestion that would give this review a 6th star (if that was possible) would be to allow the vMix caller to quickly change their camera and mic options with a drop-down feature from within the screen. Overall, this software takes first place with a huge gap between this leader and any other software that does not even come close. 5
