Striking a comfortable balance between power and portability, the Celestron C6-A-XLT 6" Telescope with GoTo EQ Mountis an ideal choice for observing objects within or beyond our solar system. It features a Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system consisting of a corrector plate, spherical primary mirror, and secondary mirror that work together to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations for crisp and clear high-resolution images with accurate color representation without distortion, especially at the edges. Complementing the optical system is the proprietary StarBright XLT optical coating system, which improves light transmission and reflectivity across the entire visual spectrum.

The optical tube is outfitted with a standard 1.25" visual back to make it easier to find eyepieces, accessories, and imaging gear. For visual observations, a 1.25" star diagonal is included along with a 25mm eyepiece that yields 60x magnification. The C6-A-XLT is offered here without a mount or tripod for users who already have a reliable support system and are looking to upgrade or add to their existing gear, but comes with a standard-sized CG-5 dovetail plate that is compatible with Vixen-style saddles.

A: The Explore Scientific APO EDT Series Rack & Pinion Focuser (2") BH #EXFOCEDAPORP • MFR #FOCEDAPO-RP should work. There is no 90 degree eyepiece.There is a 90 degree diagonal.

A: The Celestron C8-A-XLT CGE 8" f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope (OTA Only) uses a larger CGE plate and will not fit in the smaller Vixen style plate that the Nexstar uses.

[6" / 152.4mm] This C11 was a gift from a person who knew I loved telescopes. The Electronics no longer worked and was just taking up space in their garage. It has come to back to life with the CGX and is going to give me many years of great exploring the night sky. It is well built and very user friendly. Glad I chose this and the folks at B&H were great at answering my questions without pressure to “purchase now”! So far, it has exceeded my expectations! 5

[f/10] My first outing has me impressed. I have a C11 on CGEM but wanted to capture more wide fields and wanted to go big living in suburbia with a lot of light pollution. The mount for this is my 2nd AVX as I have another refractor and I can't fault them. The C6-R gives very bright and crisp views which on the first night showed Saturn and Jupiter beautifully. M31 was surprisingly brighter than expected and I was able to find it fast just by scanning the sky without goto. Looking forward to many hours with this. I tend to attract many neighbors so this is great for sharing the night views. 5

[None] I ordered this to be shipped to Australia, the delivery was fast, the price was excellent. Much better value than buying the scope here. The box was well packed by B&H with no damage. I was a bit sceptical that the alignment would work from my balcony as I don't have a 360 degree view, but it didn't matter, using manual align I point it at 3 places in my field of view and even on a full moonlit night the camera was finding between 50-100 stars. It only needs 20-50 stars for each calibration point. The only thing I can fault would be the fact that it takes 8 D-cell batteries (expensive) as opposed to the nexstar which used AA's. The batteries are housed in a holder which comes with a bag. There is a socket that plugs into the side of the scope. There is a chance that it could get tangled up, however the scope does have a feature where it sometimes rotates 360 degrees to undwind the cable if it thinks it's motion may wrap the cable. To offset the cost of the batteries I bought a 12V lead acid motorcyle battery and carry bag, car cigarette lighter connections and the celestron telescope cigarette light cable. It saves my lots of money on batteries and helps weigh down the tripod, which is already very sturdy. The telescope is on an alt-azimuth mount, however if you wanted to purchase an equtorial mount (for very long exposure astro photography) with rings later on the main scope could be easily transferred to that. [1.25"] Simply amazing telescope. The optics work very good so you are able to really see more brighter images and figure out more details. The mount and tripod are really sturdy. This telescope is very good for intermediate level. I'd prefer optics of the included eyepiece would be according the quality of the telescope you are paying for. 5

[20.5 x 16 x 12"] First of all, this is a 2 week Review. Therefore, not enough time for things to fail. The mount setup and alignment is awesome. The GOTO was spot on with images centered in a C14 scope at f/11. I couldn't do that with my old CGE mount without using the "Precise GoTo" function. The "All Star Polar Alignment" was easy using the large knobs to manually center the star. Cabling management for "Auto Guiding" keeps the cable from getting tangled. Firmware updating was simple. One problem was the lead time for an out of stock item. This was not a problem from BH Photo, but rather a problem from Celestron products not being manufactured in the US. It took 3 months to get the mount after it was ordered. 5

[6" / 152.4mm] i purchased one of these scopes a while back. Had to collimate it a bit,no big deal. Iadded the HD wedge and some televue EP and wow. Great scope,tracking and ease of use made it feel like cheating.Ive always used digital SC . this is a great set up. Celestron hit it out of the park for me. 5

[None] This is one great scope i have been debating between the 9 .25 and the 8mt HQ5 skywatcher mount would not handle the 9.25 as it 's weight is beyond what the mount can handle but no problem with the 8 i got some nice views of m15,m31 Jupiter and mars everything works smoothly optic are great and it weight's only 13 pounds more power then you need great for both Plants and deep sky wiewing 5
