The Nikon Z-mount Sirui Venus T2.9 1.6x Anamorphic 3-Lens Kit Nikon Zfrom Sirui Venus T2.9 1.6x Anamorphic 3-Lens Kit Nikon Zproduces a wider look equivalent to a 22mm spherical full-frame field of view. Suitable for capturing architecture, landscapes, and confined spaces, this lens features rich detail, cinematic, oval bokeh, and artistic lens flairs. This lens produces horizontal blue streaks when pointed at a light source, giving your footage a dreamy or science fiction aesthetic. An image captured in 16:9 is de-squeezed to an anamorphic 2.8:1 aspect ratio, whereas shooting in 3:2 yields a 2.4:1 final image.

A key aspect of anamorphic lenses is oval bokeh, which can gently distort objects and lights in the distance, providing an abstract background for your actors. Its T2.9 aperture produces a shallow depth of field, blurring everything in front or behind the specifically chosen focal plane. This lens incorporates a 1/4"-20 mounting thread and has cine-style geared focus and aperture rings.

[T2.9] Great results. Necessary post finishing. Unbeatable price.

[T16] This lens is awesome, and produces clean images with real cinematic effects. I have the entire set (35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 135mm, 150mm plus the 1.25 adapter that produces a 2x squeeze when paired with the 1.6x anamorphic squeeze of the lenses). The lenses produce uniform colors all throughout the set, and images are sharp wide open at T2.9. Somehow SIRUI has managed to make these primes sharp wide open, but not too sharp, given you that movie like look without any diffusion filters on the front of your lens. If you haven't tried the anamorphic look, you have no idea what your projects are missing. As result of purchasing this set, my G Masters and spherical Cine primes are collecting dust. The SIRUI 1.6x T 2.9 Venus Anamorphic lenses are a great set of glass.

[10] My background, goes so far back that I have scavenge projector parts to make anamorphic lenses. Needless to say the retail price of some of the so-called anamorphic lenses that are available commercially lack of performance to justify the price, and the same is even more true with the budget anamorphic lenses. That being said, Iwas fully expected being burned by what looks a glorified squeeze diopter, and I am pleasantly surprised to wrong in this case. I was wrong to avoid purchasing this earlier.

I’m just like everybody els, I get bored and I try to curb my gear acquisition syndrome by reading, watching, and generally consuming reviews. Well, the reviews on this are mixed I don’t think they’re justified. Unfortunately, we live in a world where the people review things, aren’t professionally alined enough to do that reviews, yhey are lacking experience necessary to fully understand how to utilize the equipment that they are sometimes unjustly massacring in reputation. That being said, this lens, and that’s what it is, is only limited by its use.

I just received my copy four hours ago. And before throwing it on the camera, I light tested, color tested and prism tested it, I gave it better scrutinization that I would and irregular mole. It’s mechanically and optically sound.

Before even attaching it to a taking lens I knew this was a gem. I’m not a salesman, but I would advise people to actively avoid the reviews, there’s not a lot of experienced reviewer’s that are truly worthy of judging the performance of a piece of glass like this. I they don’t really respect the basement art of this field of vie, in the first place. This piece of kit can only be as good as its host equipment, the operator and the application. That being said, this adapter could easily, and I mean “easily” be adapted into an amazing lens of its own with very little effort.

Long-winded sleepy rant /review over, the bottom line is I have a feeling these will be sought after soon

[Nikon Z] This is a great, well built adapter for anyone wanting to experiment with anamorphic filmmaking and not spend a ton of money on multiple lenses.

[35mm] I own all the Sirui 1.33 series anamorphic’s in Sony E mount (24,35,50,75mm APSC) and was looking for a commensurate solution for my Blackmagic pocket 6K Pro. Not only does the adapter work perfectly with my adapted vintage Nikon glass (28, 35, 50, 85mm AI-S series) but also works perfectly from 24-35mm on the amazing Sigma 18-35, and from 70-135 on the super sharp Canon 70-200. A very cost effective solution with impressive results.

[35mm] The results of the Anamorphic lens on the R5c are amazing. The lens has the right amount of sharpness. The bokeh and the lens flares add a nice look to your film. I plan on buying the 75mm version when it is released :)

[1x 1/4"-20] Excellent budget anamorphic lens. It works exceptionally well with my Sony A7sIII full frame camera. The Viltrox DC-X3 on camera monitor just complements the whole setup. It has exec 1.6 de-squeeze factor to help you compose every shot.

[10] Very nice lens at a decent price. I included some shots I took. I am the rare person who is using the camera for 2:1 stills not video.

[35mm] .I would characterize myself as an amateur filmmaker, or at least a serious hobbyist, who has had no experience with cinematic lenses. This lens was an absolute blast to experiment with. It's a solidly built metal body, with smooth-turning geared focus and aperture rings. It is manual focus, but with the use of focus peaking, very sharp images can be achieved. Not coming from a cinema background, T-stops are a bit mysterious to me, but the wide T2.9 aperture (which I've read is roughly equivalent to f2.1) allows lower ISOs in low light conditions. A nice bonus is the inclusion of a lens pouch. For an example from my first shoot with this lens, visit https://youtu.be/462z64lIzUc. I look forward to playing much more with this fun lens.
