Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work to conect a Hollyland lark max into a Zoom Podtrak?

A: The RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter can be used to connect a wireless receiver, such as the Hollyland Lark Max, to the XLR input of an audio recorder. However, the audio signal passed through the adapter can only be mono.

Q: 2. What adapters would be required to use the Rode Video Mic Pro (stereo) with a Tascam DR-40 and not go to mono?

A: Why not just connect 2 XLR ports on the mic to the 2 XLR ports on the recorder using simple XLR-XLR cables? Am I missing something?

Q: 3. Is this Adapter OK to use with a Rode Video Mic Go Shotgun connecting to a Tascam 70D for phantom power? If it is what should the setting on the Tascam 70D be 24v or 48v?

A: No. You should not send phantom power to the Rode Video Mic. It operates on its own internal battery, which is charged via the USB cable.

Q: 4. Can I connect an RX from the Rode Wireless Go II to a mixer, using the RODE SC11 and 2 RODE VXLRs, so I can have a microphone on each channel?

A: You can use the Rode SC11 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Y-Splitter Cable and two Rode VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapters to connect the output from the Rode Wireless GO II Receiver to the inputs on a mixer. As another option, you can use a 3.5mm TRS male to dual XLR male Y-cable like the Cable Techniques 3.5mm Right-Angle TRS to Dual Low-Profile 3-Pin XLR Male Y Cable - 15" B&H # CATGO2YX3M15), the Hosa Technology Pro Stereo Breakout Cable - 3.5mm Stereo Mini to Dual 3-Pin XLR Male - 3' (B&H # HOHMX003Y), or the Azden MX-2 - Y Cable for 200UPR & 320UPR with 1/8" (3.5mm) Mini to Dual XLR Connection (B&H # AZMX2).

Q: 5. I need to connect a Rode Newsshooter receiver to a mixer input. Is this my solution?

A: Yes, the RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter would be a good solution for connecting the mono output of a wireless receiver to a mixer's XLR input.

Q: 6. Can I connect a JBL Lifestyle Can I plug in my JBL Quantum 300 Gaming headset to this adapter and plug it into an audio interface or mixer?

A: So that we may properly assist you, please contact via phone, email or live chat.

Q: 7. I have a Rode Wireless Go and I want to plug the transmitter into the soundboard and the receiver will plug into my DSLR. What cable will I need from the VXLR to the transmitter?

A: This adapter would be to take the cable that comes out of the receiver and bring it in to an XLR input, not an output. We are not aware of an option that will allow you to feed a sound board in to the Rode Wireless Go's Transmitter at this time.

Q: 8. Will my Azden WM-Pro wireless microphone with a 3.5mm plug work with my Canon XA20 Camcorders XLR inputs using your Rode VXLR Adapter?

A: Yes, Rode's VXLR - Mono Mini-Jack to XLR Converter, is designed to do exactly what you wish.

Q: 9. I have the Tascam DR-60 and two lavalier mics: Boya BY-M1 and Purple Panda. Will the Rode VXLR allow me to connect both microphones to my recorder?

A: If you have an adapter for each mic, I can't see why not. The Tascam has dual XLR inputs.

Q: 10. Can I use this to plug in a Rode Lavalier Go Mic to an Focusrite Audio Interface XLR Jack?

A: The Rode Lavalier Go Mic is not compatible with the RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter, the correct adapter is the RODE VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter.

[1.6 lb] Just hooked it up and so far is functioning well. The shorter length is just what I needed. In fact it could have been shorter but it worked out just fine. Love the color coded wires. Great for the price too.

[8] This 6-pin cord was hard to find. But found it at B&H. It fits the microphone I needed it for and thats all one could ask. Its 25'. I wished there were more choices as I would have opted for a shorter length.

[24 AWG] I literally looked everywhere to find an RJ45 to 2 Male/2 Female cable and was just about to resign myself to having to make it myself when I came across these. Very thankful to this company for making them and appreciate the great quality.

[Analog] Needed to replace some older cables and these were readily available. Work great and a great price in comparison to Clear Com name brand, which were on back order.

[6' / 1.8 m] I was interested in the possible sound quality difference between this 50' cable and a really short one (3 to 18). I did a test recording in stereo with the left channel using my really short one (Kopul Coiled 3-Pin XLR-M to Angled 3-Pin XLR-F Cable (3 to 18)) and the right channel using this 50' cable coiled on the floor. I kept mics and recorder exactly the same for the experiment and rotated my setup in the room halfway through in case there was one side of the room that was better than another.

By ear I can detect no difference between the two sides in the recording. Both had no discernible hiss when recording a vocalist.

Fantastic!!
