[0.855 lb] I was reluctent to buy this plate for a while because of the quick release arca swiss mecanism with no safety catch. The good news is you can actually lock the arca swiss plate with the baseplate via 2x 1/4-20 screws, preventing any accidental removal of the camera. This still lets you use the dovetail clamp as you should, which is all I need for my use. Double locking passthrough 15mm rod mount base is a great asset. This also pairs great with the wooden camera VCT shoulder plate for allowing to switch from the confort/efficiently of vct system when speed is priority, to the security of a dovetail mounted system when needed (steadicam, car rig...) in a heartbeat. 5

[0.855 lb] I was torn between this and the Bright Tangerine on for my EVA1 and opted for this since BH had delays on the BT version. It's great and is versatile. I'm using it with the WC 8 Safety Dovetail and I like that it has 4 rod clamps rather than just 2 so that I can have a different set of rods in front of the camera that are easily removable. There is the issue with there being no safety catch when release the baseplate from the rail block but you would have to screw up pretty to trash a camera this way. This is an oversight though and likely a sacrifice on their part to save space and weight. Overall I'm happy. 5

[0.855 lb] I don't understand all the negative reviews on this item. Our Komodo has been out on dozens of shoots, including multiple tv shows, music videos, commercials and feature films, and we've never had a problem with the baseplate. It feels very solid and works well. Yes, there isn't a safety pin to holds the dovetail in, but I generally find them to be irritating anyway. Just make sure to tighten it up properly and it's extremely solid. 5
