Q: 1. Does this have night vision?

A: No; but awesome clarity in low lighting conditions; dawn, dusk

Q: 2. Does this tripod head have a single knob for both pan and tilt (like the old Gitzo 1720?) or does it have two separate knobs? Thank you

A: For all intents, and purposes it would be considered one knob inside of another knob. So it is one whole knob, technically.

Q: 3. does this case work for the first generation sony rx100?

A: While almost similar in size, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 Digital Camera is slightly larger in size compared to the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX90V and DSC-WX500 Digital Cameras for which the above Sony Jacket Case is designed to fit. While it may work, Sony does not list the interior dimensions of the Sony Jacket Case to confirm if the DSC-RX100 would indeed fit. I can state that, if you are looking for a case for the original Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 Digital Camera, the Sony Premium Jacket Case for Cyber-shot RX100, RX100 II, RX100 III, RX100 IV (Black), B&H # SOLCJRXFB, is the basic case designed by Sony to fit the DSC-RX100 Digital Camera.

Q: 5. I have a pair of Zeiss 10 X 25 Bino. Does this Swarovski model offer any great advantage? I am looking to purchase a new set and could use some guidance on this model. LL

A: I'd think you'd need to try both pair side by side under different lighting conditions particularly dawn / twilight ; I got the 10x30 CL, they are friggin awesome, very well made, light weight, unbelievable clarity; you won't be disappointed, great lifetime investment, little more $$ I'd go all in, so worth it

Q: 6. how do these compare to the 10x25 CL pocket binocs? What are the advantages/drawbacks of each?

A: The only difference is the power or magnification. 10 power (10X) compared to 8 power (8X) Size and weight remain the same.

Q: 7. Is there a rain guard , aftermarket or Swarovsky that will fit the 8 X 25 CL Pocket binocular?

A: I also have a Leica 10X25 that is similar size to this bino and it came with a set of push on eyepiece covers. you may be able to order the covers from B&H to use on this bino.

[Green] When I am around serious birders, Swarovski is what they all use. and the 12*50 is particularly popular for bringing distance subjects as close as possible. Our other pair has served us for fifteen years with no issues, and we look forward to using this pair for the rest of our birding lives.

[Green] I used a pair of EL 8x32 for at least six years. I loved the glass but did not like the fit. The thumb rest was too far back for my hand making the front-end heavier and prone to drooping. They also seemed slow to focus but that too might have been ergonomics. The NL 8x32 solves all of my frustrations. I absolutely love the new shape of the barrel that lets me comfortably hold the bins closer to the front. The focus is very fast. The diopter adjustment redesign is good, so far. The glass is still excellent. I was thinking of looking to a different maker for new bins before discovering that the NLs came in 8x32. I’m very happy with these. Highly recommend.

[Men's M] I just returned from a Coues Whitetail hunt in southern Arizona. I had a chance to use these outstanding binoculars for two days of hunting. I have other Swarovski products and they are the best that I have used in my 60 years of hunting experience! These 12x50 are by far the best of the best. I was able to see things more clearly right before dark than I have ever before . The detail was simply amazing. I used them mostly with a tripod but I tried them without. I couldn’t believe I could see so clearly without the tripod. They were just a little bit shaky but I could still see a lot of detail holding them by hand. The only thing that I’m not crazy about is the neck strap system. But, this a very minor complaint. I would recommend these binoculars to any outdoor enthusiast. I’m also a avid bird watcher and can’t wait to try them out for this activity.

[Men's M] I've been searching a very long time for the perfect pair of everyday binoculars. I have literally tried almost all of the top ones including Noctivids, Ultravids, Victories, etc. (for the record, I have not tried the Nikon WX IFs, just a bit out of my price range).

These NL Pure models are a masterpiece. Optically, they seem brighter, sharper, flatter and have more contrast than anything else I've tried. Handling is a joy - they really did their research with this because they fit in my hand like they were made for them. Super-comfortable. Focus is accurate, without any play, and is very fine so there's quite a bit of rotation needed which is great because it makes it easy to get focus tack sharp. Focus knob placement is perfect, easy to reach. Diopter is stiff and does not require any pulling or pushing to adjust, and will not get adjusted accidentally. Eyecup extensions are nice and smooth. Rubber armor is solid and has no sign of being able to pull away on the seams or edges. Excellent front caps pop out of the way, eyecup cap is semi-stiff and very easy to use and is very secure. Strap attachment is outstanding and allows for swiveling and also comes with lugs to use your own strap instead. Included strap is top-quality and very comfortable. Included bag is also superior to anything else out there. Presentation is also superior with nice boxes and added niceties like a brush and soap to clean the rubber. I am so incredibly happy to have found these.

[Men's M] I've been through several binoculars and these are the best I've found while wearing glasses. I tried the NL Pures and it always seemed like I was always looking for the best eye position. The 10x50 EL's amaze me every time I look through them. Eye positioning is not a problem and eye relief is plentiful. Only a little heavier, but worth every ounce .

[Men's M] I purchased these for my wife because she had shoulder surgery and could no longer hold heavier binoculars. Their resolution and field of view are truly amazing. Colors are outstanding! Yes, they are expensive! However, I have no question that you get what you pay for! If you can afford them, go for it. You will not be disappointed.

[Green] Amazing optics: Incredible sharpness, even at the edge. Virtually no chromatic aberration. I have used binoculars before, but inexpensive ones. I tried some $500 binoculars but the edge softness and chromatic aberration bothered me. I use high end medical binocular microscopes at work (Zeiss & Leica) and so am used to exceptional optical quality, so decided to spring for these alpha binoculars. Field of view is incredible. Absolutely love them and no regrets.

The new NL barrel design with the ingenious dent in the middle is very ergonomic. I prefer this one-bridge design for its simplicity. Love the simple aesthetic and the minimalistic front eye caps that attach to the body of the binoculars rather than having a clumsy rubber O-ring that will move around.

Minor negatives: I bought an initial model that had a faint rattle, which was surprising. I called Swarovksi support and B&H and ultimately exchanged which was very easy, quick, and problem was solved. Only minor gripe is that on the ocular lens side, the outer rubber ring is a little shallow unless I rotate it back one click. I wear glasses and the plastic rim of my glasses occasionally gently contacts the middle metal ring surrounding the ocular lens (not the actual lens). Rotating back a click solves this at the expense of 2 mm of eye relief, which is not a big deal. I am splitting hairs because this is a fantastic instrument that I have already had many hours of enjoyment with.

I went to B&H in person and spent a long time checking out competing models from Zeiss & Leica & Nikon and both the optics and the ergonomics, I felt, were far superior in the Swaro NL. It just clicked the moment I tried them. Preferred the 32 mm size/portability as a trade off for slightly dimmer view in extreme hours of the day or great shade. The smaller size lets me use them more and can more easily travel with them.

Last note: B&H is incredible, have used them for over 20 years.
