Q: 10. How far out do the bullet drop system work? On the new model 10x42 the inclinometer system only works out to 600 yards.

A: The Ultravid model does not have a built-in rangefinder. Only the Geovid model has that. A Geovid HD-R can do calculations for a range of 10-600 yards and provide an adjusted horizontal distance measurement (what we call EHr). Thats usually a good range for bow hunters. The Geovid HD-B can do calculations for a range of 100-875 yards (or out to 1000 yds. by using the included micro SD card to load a custom calculation through our website), and can provide the above mentioned EHr value, or a Hold value, or the number of click adjustments to make on a riflescope. This model is better for the rifle hunter.

[Roof] If you are in the market for a small binocular with top-of-the-line performance this, is it.

I have several old binoculars a Meade 7 x 50 porro, a Tasco 10 x 25 and Bushnell 10 X 25 and which like me were getting are old.

A friend recently became interested in bird watching and I did the research.  As I live in the Houston area and at the edges of both the Central and Mississippi migratory bird flyways in the U.S. and live on a large tract of land, I have the opportunity to see a lot of different birds.

As my old Meade was becoming harder to focus, I looked at the current market of ED binoculars and saw the Celestron NatureDX 8 X 42 model.  Like many reviews it is fantastic binocular.  I also decided to replace my small truck binoculars with something better than the Tasco 10 X 25 or the Bushnell and found the Hawk Vantage 8 X 32 model and I ordered it.  I also gave some thought to the Hawke Endurance ED model and almost sent an email to B & H to change out my order but I didn’t.

Upon arriving I did a comparison of the Celestron NatureDX against the Hawke Vantage.  I cannot see the difference between the two.  I can clearly see the difference between the Vantage the Tasco and the Bushnell. So, I drove out to the coast to look at the coastal shore birds.  The Vantage is a very good binocular.  It is lite, well built, easy to focus, very good light and for an eye glasses wearing person like me it has great eye relief.  I don’t see how the Vantage Endurance could be much better.

The Vantage is great binocular.

[5° (Actual)] This is an excellent 'scope for use with standard velocity 22 LR ammunition. Optical performance is excellent, hash marks on the etched glass reticle for hold over are clear and work well for longer shots once a 50 yard zero is obtained. This Hawke 'scope is a great value and as usual, best price and shipment was found at B&H.

[50 mm] I wanted clarity for all distances, ease of use, close up focus (within 4 ft - I can focus on and magnify the ground at my feet while standing!) as well as far distances, not to heavy, easy and quick to sweep gaze and change focus at where I'm looking, solid feel, end lens covers that don't fall off, able to use with/without eye glasses, nice grip in B hands, no fall out at the edges of vision. This has it. Hard case great, light. Well designed binoculars. I'm no expert. I did not want to spend over $150. I scoured reviews and best of this year and that - much information, but I wrote down what they said I should try and get. The 8x magnification is perfect with the lighter weight than 10x. I am a slight woman in 60's, the regular neck strap seems fine. I have no idea what the ED does compared to others but the light, focus and clarity is great in these. I am an artist and visual clarity means a lot to me. B & H were excellent, replied to email question within a day, shipped by express which was 'free.' No complaints.

[12x] I just returned from a Coues Whitetail hunt in southern Arizona. I had a chance to use these outstanding binoculars for two days of hunting. I have other Swarovski products and they are the best that I have used in my 60 years of hunting experience! These 12x50 are by far the best of the best. I was able to see things more clearly right before dark than I have ever before . The detail was simply amazing. I used them mostly with a tripod but I tried them without. I couldn’t believe I could see so clearly without the tripod. They were just a little bit shaky but I could still see a lot of detail holding them by hand. The only thing that I’m not crazy about is the neck strap system. But, this a very minor complaint. I would recommend these binoculars to any outdoor enthusiast. I’m also a avid bird watcher and can’t wait to try them out for this activity.

[2.82 lb] When I am around serious birders, Swarovski is what they all use. and the 12*50 is particularly popular for bringing distance subjects as close as possible. Our other pair has served us for fifteen years with no issues, and we look forward to using this pair for the rest of our birding lives.

[Roof] I put this scope on my Henry 22lr lever action scope and shoots perfectly. Has Green and Red Illumination for when you are shooting in low light conditions. highly recommend this for a 22lr rifle of any kind. Hawke makes some of the best scopes i have ever used, I won 9 Hawke scopes.
