[8.9 x 6.5 x 3"] Put four of these in a Synology RS1619xs+ and I get 42TB of useable space in RAID 5 with full 10 GbE download speeds and about 500 MB/s write speeds. I've written at least 70 TB over the course of 1,650 hours to the array so far and no hiccups or bad sectors. It of course takes a few years to find out how good these truly are but they are off to a great start. ST16000NM000J seems to be an updated version of Seagate's 16TB enterprise drives with a bit more sustained speed. I had some bad luck with the first generation of 12TB Ironwolf drives so I'm going to be sticking with Exos for the foreseeable future, plus they are actually less expensive in most cases. 5

[1.76 lb] I selected this drive as the 16TB seemed less reliable in tests and is barely cheaper. Moreover, I wanted the ability to replace on failure. That is where the 5 year warranty comes in. Some third party vendors resell OEM drives that lack this warranty or US origin sales. My experience is that of they fail it is the first 3 months. Once you pass that hurdle, you are typically fine. Please ensure you back up your files. One word of caution, duplicating a smaller drive and enlarging the image size may bump you into partition size limitations in Windows, resulting in unused disk space. That is fixible with third party software, but cumbersome and introduces the risk of data corruption. Instead format this disk and copy the content. I have multiple brands of harddisk drives, but have been moving back to Seagate as a result of publishred rialibility results. So far 62TB of Seagate storage without problems. 5

[550 TB] This is a replacement for a 16TB drive which arrived DOA. The exchange process was very fast as I received a return shipping label and RMA in a few hours. [1.76 lb] Did a lot of research from HDD review websites. This 16TB Exos X18 HDD seems to be the most reasonable choice for now (great price). Not regretting the purchase - with 5 years warranty and so far so good. It is working great on my Synology 918+. 5
