Reducing it to a bare minimum might be particularly important if the rig is on the end of a boom pole, for example; a Modular might be the best choice in that case. If you needed a cost-effective, handheld solution for quick and easy sound effects gathering in the field, you might opt for the Super-Shield. For the ultimate in handling noise reduction, your best bet would be our industry-leading, flagship Cyclone range. It is possible that the WS11 may fit the ECM-XM1, but we have not tested it with the Sony mic to be able to confirm that it will fit correctly.
