Q: 1. What is the maximum power consumption on this device?

A: The power requirements for the AW-UE150 PTZ camera is - PoE Support PoE++ 802.3bt Power Connectors 1 x Proprietary (10.8 to 13.2 VDC) Power Consumption Power Supply: 10.8 to 13.2 VDC at 4 A PoE: 42 to 57 VDC at 1.2 A

Q: 2. Can this be mounted on a studio boom stand?

A: Yes, but proper hardware is needed Please review the following in order to do so Impact Rapid Baby to 1/4"-20 Male Threaded Adapter https://bhpho.to/3sZKZkM

Q: 3. Does the camera embed audio (received via the XLR or 3.5mm audio inputs) in the NDI output?

A: Yes, the Canon CR-N500 Professional 4K NDI PTZ Camera with 15x Zoom (Satin Black) can embed audio from the XLR or 3.5mm audio ports into the NDI output stream.

Q: 4. I see that the camera uses rs-422 protocol for joystick control. One of the main issues with Panasonic cameras is their joysticks requires two hands to use. The Sony joysticks are far superior because they only require one hand which allows you contol ptz with one hand and switch with your other hand. Will a Sony joystick like the rm-br300 control this cam? Not sure if all rs-422 functions/pinout assignments are the same between competing companies.

A: The following unit can be driven by any Control offering Protocols of RS-232 RS-422 Just keep in mind when using a proprietary controller you are gaining full access and features the PTZ unit has to offer.

Q: 5. Can the XLR inputs be configured for line-level audio, or are they permanently configured as mic-level?

A: The Canon CR-N500 Professional 4K NDI PTZ Camera with 15x Zoom (Satin Black) (B&H# CAPTZCRN500) has two XLR inputs that may be set using the camera's configuration software to mic level, line level, or mic level plus phantom power. Incidentally, the same is true of its 3.5mm input, with the power level being appropriate for that input (Plug-In Power rather than phantom power).

Q: 6. Is the Ubiquiti Switch Pro 48 PoE (USW-Pro-48-PoE) compatible with the AW-UE150?

A: Yes the POE++ ports on the Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Pro PoE 48-Port Network switch ( USW-PRO-48-POE) are capable of powering the Panasonic UE150 PTZ cameras.

Q: 7. Is there any way to power the 24 VDC requirement via a v mount battery?

A: It may be possible to power the Canon CR-N500 Professional 4K NDI PTZ Camera with 15x Zoom (Satin Black) using a d-tap to DC barrel cable like the Atomos D-Tap to DC Barrel Coiled Cable (BH #ATOMDTPCB2) and a 24V battery like the RED DIGITAL CINEMA REDVOLT XL-V Battery (156Wh, V-Mount)(BH #RE7400055), but we can not guarantee such a setup would work. [0 to 45 dB] We've only had it a couple of weeks, but this is a great unit. It is solidly built and easy to program / set up. It's heavy enough to not worry about it sliding on the table top. I really love the POE feature so there's no need for extra power cable -- this helps to reduce clutter on the desktop. The Joystick responds well and is easy to use.

I do with all the buttons lit up, or perhaps light up a second or two when pressed (as a visual feedback). My other wish is that it had feet or a stand that could make it angle a little more. But these wish-list items do not discount my 5-star rating.

Overall, this is a great unit. I would definitely purchase this one again.

[PoE++ 802.3bt] I am delighted with the joystick camera controller. It is everything that we hoped that it would be. Its a huge step up in precise control for the camera - so much more sophisticated than the camera's included remote control that we were previously using. I am very satisfied.

[30x] I was worried that it would be difficult to configure, but one single ethernet cable connected to a POE injector and they have power and provide a pristine image to Vimeo's Livestream Studio. It took seconds to go from no signal to live streaming. And learning to set presents and recall presents is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Literally. Push preset, Push a number, and then Push enter. These are well worth the investment.

[30x] Purchased this to replace my normal Sony A7 IV/Kiloview U40 NDI encoder rig, while I travel. Wanted something a bit lighter, smaller, and with integrated NDI.

Literally plugged in a PoE+ port from my switch, attached a cheap Sigma 30 1.4 lens, and in under 1 minutes, had a pretty decent NDI HX/3, H.265 4k/30 available in vMix and NDI Tools Studio Monitor. Tweaked it a bit using manual focus, some sharpness, aperture (2.8 best), and 4k/59.94, all set to highest settings. I am used to full NDI, but this new codec HX3, is fantastic. Light network load, minimal difference in latency. Well worth it!

Will be traveling with a laptop, a tiny 2.5 GbE switch, a PoE injector, and this is much safer and easier than bringing my main gear. If I get robbed, better to lose $1300 than $5000! I honestly find the on-screen levels of detail and color accuracy almost as good as my full frame, doing the same thing! Money well spent!

The menu system is actually quite good. I had heard it was complex, and yes, some of the sub-settings take some finding, but once you do it a few times, actually better than Sony's, not as good as Panasonic! Highly recommended!

[PoE++ 802.3bt] I've made of a lot of money using these cameras. They are fun to operate, and the image quality is nice relative to the cost and capability of the overall package. Although some other companies produce nice images in their PTZs, Panasonic is the leader in image and control for this sector, if you want to be able to operate these and make live moves.

[30x] We are thrilled with our purchase of the NewTek NDIHX-PTZ1 NDI PTZ Camera from B&H! B&H was wonderful to deal with - knowledgeable and helpful! The camera is easy to set up and use. Quality is exceptional!

[50 dB] I own 5 Z-Cam E2C's for my podcast/livestream studio. The only gripe I ever had was that the E2C needed the Stream Converter app to output NDI. Now with the E2N, it's native. This was a game changer for me. I wish I could trade in all my E2C's for the E2N. Plus there is a multicam function for syncing that I really want to play with. Small and powerful. I've been a happy Z-Cam owner since 2019. I've gotten many compliments on the quality of my video podcasts and much of that is thanks to Z-Cam.

[ 40 W] I use this controller for up to three PTZ 30x cameras, via PoE Ethernet. Nearly every feature of the camera is accessible through this controller. Besides pan, tilt and zoom, I regularly use manual exposure control, and up to 10 preset positions for each camera. A particularly nice feature is the ability to attach an HDMI monitor to view the currently selected camera via Ethernet RTSP. You set the speed one notch below that of your HDMI or SDI video. This is an essential feature when working with software (e.g., WireCast) or hardware (e.g., SlingStudio) which has a significant lag time. The monitor lag is only a few frames, which is easy to accommodate. I ultimately bought two Superjoy controllers, because I rely on it for nearly every job.

[PoE++ 802.3bt] We use this in a church sanctuary to control three PTZ cameras. Previously, we had PTZ's IP SuperController, which was frankly, a pretty bad experience. We took a chance one this newer iteration and we love it. Solidly built, responds well, controls what we need and most importantly has not once had to reboot itself at the slightest static shock.

[30x] This camera is the best PTZ under $2000. The optical quality of this JVC unit is far and away superior to any others I looked at in this price range. It was also easy to network and I love the SRT streaming.
